Well am I. Find that I want to learn to drive just so that I can drive one of the Eddie Stobart lorries Grin. Its such an interesting programme, what lovely looking lorries.

My bestest friend is in the Eddie Stobart fan club. They send you a book and you tick off the ones you have seen Shock. She wants to go on the waiting list to have a lorry named after her daughter. The list is something like two years!!!

She's still my best friend (she is normal, honest!).

pigletmania · 08/10/2010 21:47

Oh thats fascinating, resisting the temptation makingRisotto, its so hard, desperate not to turn into an Eddie Stobart lorry spotter Grin

My brother drives for Stobart and we went to meet him with our kids and he took us for a ride in his lorry and I was a bit scared, you are so high up and they bounce about a lot

bluebump · 08/10/2010 21:48

We've been watching this too. We watched a few programmes about them before too, the owners seemed really down to earth but mega rich! DP used to be a partner in a haulage company in his spare time so it's nice to see how it should be done!

southeastastra · 08/10/2010 21:49

i watched first one, then realised life really was too short Grin

ruddynorah · 08/10/2010 21:50

it's the uk version of ice road truckers!

pigletmania · 08/10/2010 21:50

oooh thats exciting seymourbeaver, they had a young female driver on last week with a bubblegum pink car, so cool that she could drive those big lorries with ease, but also be quite a girly girl. I really wanted to drive those lorries, will have to take a driving test first though. Never thought I would be this way. I am serious. I am watching it now, it really is interesting.

DS2 has been mesmerised with this programme!

MakingRisotto · 08/10/2010 21:53

The alarming thing is pigletmania, is that I now always notice them and have a look for their name because they remind me of her! Blush

They used to wear shirts and ties - she used to check they were wearing them, but they wear polo shirts now.

Gosh, my knowledge is concerning.

MakingRisotto · 08/10/2010 21:53

They being the drivers...

pigletmania · 08/10/2010 22:01

I find myself mesmarised by the programme, did not think that I would Grin. My dh was making fun of me a couple of months ago about being an Eddie stobart lorry spotter, though nah not in a million years, now I am not so sure. Will be looking out for the names when on the motorway.

PatTheHammer · 08/10/2010 22:04

Ok, don't admit this much but DD DOES have one named after her and it has featured on this very programme! First name E and middle name C

Courtesy of my very sad bastard FIL being in the fan club, he waited 2.9yrs for it to come up, badgering them every 3 months.

My DC's now love them..............I am surroundedShock

PatTheHammer · 08/10/2010 22:06

Also, my mum RANG me at 10.15pm on tuesday night to tell me she had seen DD's lorry on that very programme.

The whole family has gone barking madBlush

Brasso4 · 08/10/2010 22:11

Its hilarious! The dangerous QE2 bridge..the scary road to Peterborough. The tone of voice the narrator uses - like everything is a drama..

ruddynorah · 08/10/2010 22:15

did you all watch ice road truckers? this is like a spoof of it! ice road truckers dice with death, eddie stobart truckers dice with the m6, hilarious Grin

TiggyD · 08/10/2010 22:15

I love spending my time watching somebody drive a lorry and park and load things and get stuck in traffic and FUCK FUCK FUCK what a waste of time. You are being very unreasonable and tragically sad. What next? Watching somebody knit for half an hour? Celebrity paint dry? YABVVVVVVVVVU

pigletmania · 08/10/2010 22:15

MakingRisotto · 08/10/2010 22:20

Sometimes piglet, you have to look hard. I saw a Tesco lorry with an Eddie cab. Sneaky! Eyes on the road. eh?

pigletmania · 08/10/2010 22:21

OP posts:
ruddynorah · 08/10/2010 22:21

tiggy you should put yourself forward to get a lorry named after you. that's pure glam!

pigletmania · 08/10/2010 22:22

Oh no MakingRisotto, the traitors, should have an Eddie Stobart trailer.

OP posts:
TiggyD · 08/10/2010 22:22

pigletmania · 08/10/2010 22:26
