cyborg · 07/10/2010 20:32

whats a V a little vignette?

loubielou31 · 07/10/2010 20:34

YAVDNBU. I love her recipes, but hate her cheesy overacted pretending this is her kitchen and these people just happened to be coming round for dinner load of old bollocks.

Will probably ask for the book for Christmas though.

neytiri · 07/10/2010 20:34

tonights episode did have a 'rent-a-friend' feel to it. am not sure any of the people she cooked for actually know her.

gapbear · 07/10/2010 20:34

I found her friends to be unreasonably good looking. No munters allowed.

purpleturtle · 07/10/2010 20:35

YADNBU

I did a fair bit of cringing.

skinandblister · 07/10/2010 20:36

I was cringing at her spiel while she was doing the "plate trifle"....so over the top!

I too will be trying the fried gnocci Wink

wholovesyou · 07/10/2010 20:36

I think shes always looks drunk. Im just waiting for her to fall into the oven.

cupcakesandbunting · 07/10/2010 20:36

She is a hammy idiot but I would feel her boobs up after stealing her chocolate torte.

saltyair · 07/10/2010 20:39

cringing here too...I half expected them all to randomly burst into song....

I only switched on halfway through - couldn't work out what the fried thing was....did she boil the gnocchi first or just make 'em and fry 'em?

keepeverybodyhappy · 07/10/2010 20:41

laughing very much at wholovesyou.......falling into the oven!! Grin

MakingRisotto · 07/10/2010 20:44

It was cringy in places. I still love her though. I love the new book .

mousymouse · 07/10/2010 20:47

I hate the smug way she has NOTHING in original packaging. who in real life get the bisquits out of the pack into a jar? I eat them I just don*t bother...

DaisySteiner · 07/10/2010 20:47

Does anybody else remember her doing taste-tests on This Morning many moons ago, long before she was famous for her cooking? I remember her coming across as pretty weird and with all the charisma of a carrot Smile

MakingRisotto · 07/10/2010 20:49

I wonder if the packet thing is an advertising issue? The gnocchi was defo sainsburys.

That said, lots of product placement for Kitchenaid on the Beeb...the Great British Bake Off had them in every colour and Nigella was using hers tonight.

Dione · 07/10/2010 20:50

I cringe when she does those 'midnight feast' bits in her pjs and the sun is clearly shining behind the closed curtains. It also pisses me off a bit that production think that we actually believe that she has a camera crew spending the night in her kitchen. Like some sort of weird human Autumn Watch voyeurism.

Shelly32 · 07/10/2010 20:51

I cringed when she called lamb steaks 'promiscuous'...wtf??? Dirty lamb steaks!!

NonnoMum · 07/10/2010 20:52

We watched just after the doom credit crunch documentary on t'other side. Twas like entering the twilight zone.

And DH nearly fell off his chair when she asked the failed-musical-theatre actor if he loved her lovely vagina.

Or fajita.

Way passed its sell-by date.

But v funny.

ruddynorah · 07/10/2010 20:52

she's become a caricature of herself. overly smiling, overly simpering, overly buxom. i had to switch off.

NonnoMum · 07/10/2010 20:55

Yes, ruddy. Exactly. Or fodder for Harry Hill's show...

Maria2007loveshersleep · 07/10/2010 21:44

Was also a bit cringe-worthy when she called out to her son 'Bruno! Supper! NOW!' in a fake way. Son (Bruno) looks like a nice kid though.

nikos · 07/10/2010 21:58

Just kept imagining a spoof in my head of someone making beans on toast in the same simpering way!!!

dementedma · 07/10/2010 22:02

fried gnocchi thingies looked good - kids would like those i think. She does ham it up something rotten but i like her recipes

ramyr · 07/10/2010 22:06

I thought she said 'that'll feed the hungry whores!' but DH says it was 'hungry hordes' Grin

And celery in a vase? WTF?

I too will be asking for the book for Christmas though!

princessProudmel · 07/10/2010 22:08

dh and I noticed the vagina/fajita thing too.
Not enough chicken for 4 people.

Plus her friends looked like her childrens friends.

Gnocci looked yum. Not boiled, just fried out of pack.

The making the trifle while eating toast was silly. Who whips cream in a suit before work????

And who puts celery in a vase?

SirBoobAlot · 07/10/2010 22:16

She is infuriating to the extreme. I would rather like to slap the smug pout of her face.

And then get her to make me a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake Blush
