5yr olds peeing in the bushes

Yesterday on the walk home from school my friend's ds stopped for a pee in the bushes. A mother and her dd came by and really had a go at both mum and her ds. She basically said he should not be exposing himself to her dd. I was shocked and thought she was seriously overreacting, AIBU?

What a horrible way to speak to a little boy, Honestly what is wrong with some people?

floweryblue · 07/10/2010 19:56

Nasty lady was ridiculous, no doubt about that. Peeing all over the place is a bit grim in theory but don't dogs, cats, birds, lots of other animals, do it? Our world is covered in pee!

Caboodle · 07/10/2010 20:19

Be careful if you do it in the park....my DS may just have to wee on you Grin

BrigitteBardot · 07/10/2010 20:20

Oh FGS it's hardly a crime. Urine is sterile. I would be more worried about spits or chewing-gums. I find this more disgusting that a 4-year old boy's wee.

It stinks if people pee in one place over and over again.
A 4-year old boy's little wee in a bush will not stink. There are so many other things to get worked up about. This is silly.

Mumcentreplus · 07/10/2010 20:24

If you are drinking enough it hardly stinks..tbh I dont get it..little boy peeing in bush BIG DEAL???..its sterile till it leaves the body...

mummyloveslucy · 07/10/2010 20:27

My 5.5 year old daughter has to wee in bushes sometimes as she has some SEN's and has only been out of pull ups 6 months.
I try to hide her as much as possible as I'm aware that she's tall for her age and to a stranger would look like a 7 year old weeing in the bushes. Grin

I think anyone would avoid it if they could, no one wants to have that embarassment. I know I sure don't.

I love peeing in public threads. i'm now so sad that I run a little wager with myself as to how far in someone will say 'urine is sterile'. Urine IS sterile when it's enclosed in nice sterile bladder but the second it comes into contact with genitalia, it becomes contaminated with any manner of bugs and beasties.
But urine DOES stink and I hate seeing kids (usually boys) peeing against trees, on beaches and near parks. How lovely for anyone sitting in their stale wee. In a lot of years of beinga parent, I've never yet needed to let a child pee on the ground. If tehy have poor bladder control, make sure you can deal with it. Nasty habit.

mummyloveslucy · 07/10/2010 20:44

Sassybeast- you've obviously never had a child with poor bladder control or SEN's. I'm very prim and propper and when I have to take her in the bushes, I cringe but it's either that or she wets herself. If I kept her in pull up's she'd never gain bladder control.

BrigitteBardot · 07/10/2010 20:45

How repressed.
There are a million more disgusting things to be worried about. It might not be 100% sterile (apart from urine from circumcised men apparently and mid-stream urine - I have just found out) but you're unlikely to touch it anyway. And to go back to the OP, talking about the little boy exposing himself is just too pathetic.

Mumcentreplus · 07/10/2010 20:45

Note I said till it leaves the body...anyway..I really don't get the upset it causes..child weeing in bush..front page news!!? hate? ..I get a child should be able to hold it and i should not be a habit..but you hardly know is a habit unless you see the same little boy weeing all the time at the same bush..???..things happen!!..and btw I have 2 DDs so very little bush weeing going on here..

Sassybeast · 07/10/2010 20:54

Mummyloveslucy - perhaps it's because I HAVE got a child with poor bladded control that I know it's possible to be prepared for every eventuality ? Hmm

Mumcentreplus · 07/10/2010 21:00

I beleive its not possible to be prepared for every eventuality...sorry..unless you can see into the future and if so can i have the lottery numbers please Grin

seeker · 07/10/2010 21:00

Every tree in the park is already covered in dog pee anyway - a bit of boy pee isn't going to make a difference!
