She just gets on my nerves so much !!

yabu - she's no fool.

Hedgeblunder · 02/10/2010 22:58

Yanbu- she's vile and not a chef,she's a cook.

Rindercella · 02/10/2010 23:00

Seth, you took the words out of my mouth.

Nigella Lawson is no fool. She's not particularly smirking either. And if I was a cow I would be very happy to look like Nigella Wink

OP, YABU.

crisproll2 · 02/10/2010 23:00

I think YABVVVU...'a smirking bovine fool'?!

How rude.

Valpollicella · 02/10/2010 23:01

Bovine fool? Hmm What a lovely way to describe another woman who you've never met...

Care to expand on your OP?

Why describe her as 'bovine' in particular?

roomonthebroom · 02/10/2010 23:01

YABU. I made her brownies today and they were AMAZING. I don't like it when she deep fries a pig's ear and tucks in though. Yuck!

jtop · 02/10/2010 23:02

Why are there no female chefs on tv ?

OP posts:
Hedgeblunder · 02/10/2010 23:02

It's all the ooooh look I'm so sexy crap, makes me cringe!

Scarabeetle · 02/10/2010 23:03

I love Nigella and can't abide anyone with a gripe against her. Her recipes work and they make me look like I know what I'm doing in the kitchen. She's a successful woman and passionate lover of food - this country needs more female role models like her. I cherish every Nigella book on my shelf. I could chuck the rest out.

Valpollicella · 02/10/2010 23:04

OK so you're pissed off she uses her sexuality Hmm. Why call her bovine?

Nowt bovine about Nigella.

jtop · 02/10/2010 23:04

Hey scarabeetle you're not her mother by any chance are you ?

OP posts:
Valpollicella · 02/10/2010 23:05

Erm there are female chefs/cooks

Nigella being one of them...Hmm

grapeandlemon · 02/10/2010 23:06

I also cringe when I see her doing all that sexy stuff licking her kitchen utensils - she so isn't sexy - it's really forced and obvious and she just needs to lay off all that food.

Valpollicella · 02/10/2010 23:07

Why does she 'need to lay off all that food'?

Hedgeblunder · 02/10/2010 23:08

I watched an episode of her show once with my mum who said 'she'll have that banana up er chuff next'

jtop · 02/10/2010 23:11

I agree she is just so false.

OP posts:
roomonthebroom · 02/10/2010 23:11

I'm with scarabeetle. I'm so much more confident in the kitchen thanks to Nigella as I know if I use one of her recipies it will turn out how it's meant to.

I want to be nigella. Still wouldn't eat the pig's ear though.

celticlassie · 02/10/2010 23:13

In her Christmas book she claims she soaks her turkey in a bucket of water for 24 hours before cooking it. Hmm

Hedgeblunder · 02/10/2010 23:14

Her Christmas book is awful. Anyway, everyone knows delia is the kitchen queen!

Valpollicella · 02/10/2010 23:15

Jtop, yes she may well be false. But why describe her as 'bovine'?

You know what bovine means, yes?

jtop · 02/10/2010 23:15

I have no idea whether her recipes are any good or not. I so can't bear to watch her doing her smirky thing on TV that it puts me off buying any of her books!

Yes Valpatronising, I do. You may not like the word but it is what springs to mind for me when I see her.

Maybe it is the udders ?

fuschiagroan · 02/10/2010 23:17

Well cows have big brown eyes and look at you all dopey.

I don't think she's unintelligent, but she is quite irritating.

Lol at banana up chuff

Amapoleon · 02/10/2010 23:18

I don't think she's a fool but she does smirk and appears to be very smug. I can't watch her but I quite like her recipes.
