Obviously not to playgroups etc, but I've got a baby at home and don't think I can cope otherwise. Is there anywhere we can safely go where there won't be lots of kids/pregnant women?

I think I am incredibly naive but just cannot understand why someone would go to such an effort to weave such a complicated story (here , the blog, in RL) unless they really had some serious problems. I hope that SS hasn't stolen anyone's identity and I wish there wasn't a dead child involved in all of this. Its all just a mess.

sethstarkaddersmum · 02/10/2010 20:56

she has mentioned chicken pox in plenty of other threads.

Portofino · 02/10/2010 20:57

IP addresses are the address of your PC. When you send an email or post something, a little data packet gets sent that includes the info of the poster and postee. I am not an expert but know there are ways of getting round this.

However, MNHQ employ tech experts. I can't believe that they would post such a thing unless they were sure.

SGM - that was what I was afraid of. This is awful.

Its awful that chicken pox can kill and the education I have had from this thread is invaluable. I do not want this thread remembered as a troll hunted one but as a 'look what can happen'. However minute the statistics no-one should willingly or knowingly risk the life of human-kind. We are one race.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 02/10/2010 20:59

It is possible that her dd's immune system was overwhelmed by the chicken pox, and she then caught a secondary infection, from which she died. To me, that would still mean that the chickenpox was the cause of her death because her immune system would otherwise have been able to cope much better with the secondary infection, whatever it was.

so does my mobile phone have a different IP address to my laptop even though I use the same broadband?? (may seem irrelevant - sorry)

This thread is :(

The picking to pieces of peoples stories makes me feel sick.

Indeed BeerTricksPotter.

Poor, poor woman, if someone's pinched their identity for their own amusement. Sickening.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 02/10/2010 21:04

I am left wondering now what happens to the individuals closely involved in this thread. Will someone from MNHQ be able to investigate further or is it a case of out of sight out of mind?

Echoing what Mumbar says. Whatever version of the truth about Sassysusan you believe, please please please don't dismiss the very real and present dangers and consequences of CP that other people have related on this thread. I am stepping away from this now - so confused Sad

thefirstmrsDeVere · 02/10/2010 21:05

Exactly.

The cause of death as described by the Death Certificate or Coroner is not always the same as described by the family/media.

My friends child died from a severe cold. Her certificate described COD as multiple organ failure.

zeno · 02/10/2010 21:06

Could you (collectively) please lay off picking holes in cause of death? I don't care if you think there's trolling involved, some things you should butt out of when you don't know what you're talking about.

And thank-you Stewie Griffin for pointing out that the bereaved parents' thread is largely for the perusal of other bereaved parents. Gawking at it is like rubber-necking a car crash. And just because we can't see you doesn't mean we don't know you're all there.

DirtyMartini · 02/10/2010 21:06

I can't even remember who the OP was on this thread now. Whoever she was, she's certainly unintentionally opened Pandora's box -- wonder if she is still even reading and aware of all the weirdness that has unspooled from her innocent question.

I'm a little confused about the France thing. Was Sassy on holiday and coming home today? So last night's ruction happened at the end of a holiday? Or does she travel for work or something?

I realize that sounds like nosiness, but it's more that the mention of being at Marseille Airport today on her blog struck an odd note. I'm not really suggesting it's evidence of anything in particular.

I have been educated by this. I had NO idea CP was so dangerous. DD and I have both had it in early childhood so I never gave it much thought. "One of those things" you are glad to get out of the way.

I am totally saddened by the rest of it.

DirtyMartini · 02/10/2010 21:10

Zeno, can only speak for myself but it's never once occurred to me to go across to the bereavement thread(s); so if SGM and I both feel that way, probably others do too. So maybe there are not really that many rubberneckers. I hope not.

Don't think I could handle it anyway, to be honest.

asdx2 · 02/10/2010 21:11

Can't you buy IP addresses? Seem to remember a friend of a friend purchasing one to disguise the fact he was making multiple pirate dvd downloads.

Pixie, really not directed at anyone, nor telling anyone off for posting.

Speaking for myself only, I feel very intruded upon at the thought of half of mn charging off to our thread to look for holes in stories or give themselves the horrors reading about our dead children. Most people wouldn't think of popping in normally, so to visit for the first time in the midst of a rather thrilling night of troll hunting seems, to me, to be voyeuristic.
