I've namechanged because i'm a wimp...

On sunday night a 10yr old boy hung himself, he hung himself because he'd been bullied.

He'd tried to kill himself on numerous occasions, because he was being bullied.

Because of this, his poor mother was on constant 'suicide watch' and got her neighbour to put a ladder to the window when he locked his bedroom door.

He was found hanging from his bed.

So tell me AIBU in thinking that the nasty little bastards who caused that poor boy so much pain and upset should be told YOU my child are a nasty little shit, because of you and others like you a boy suffering became so much he decided he didnt want to live anymore ??

Not given a pat on the back and 'helped' to feel 'better' ??

You know what, reading back through some of these posts, esp Elmofan's re her son :( makes me think that my behaviour at school, whilst bad, was not that bad. And I still feel like a total git about it. It must be virtually impossible for people in Elmofan's position not to think of that child as nasty - I am not sure I could convince myself the child was a victim too.

Part of teaching is getting to know your pupils needs and weakness as well as their strengths. Trying to understand them. About fairness, guidance and setting boundries and hoping they will remember you further down the line as a role model.
As a teacher myself, I know I made every effort to try and employ these things which are as important as the education itself. Yes, I have made mistakes, have not paid attention where I should have but I have tried my best to listen when there were problems brought to my attention.
Not all bankers should be bankers, not all teachers should be teachers and there are plenty in the profession that should not be there. I am not saying it is the fault of the teachers but usually you can pick something up if you are watching closly enough and are that engaged with your pupils.

It may have been though that they were in different classes and teachers never saw them together but I kind of doubt that in a primary school.
