to think logo-ed up forty-plus dads are completely cringeworthy and should be banned?

OMG, went to pick up DS2 and answering the door was his friends father: forty-something, thinning on top and head to toe in t-shirts and shorts covered in Abercrombie and Fitch wording and logos. Oh yes and looking very pleased with himself.
Even DS2 thought it was "tragic".

Should be banned shouldn't it? or aibu?

YANBU - cling to your youth old man Grin

quintet · 24/09/2010 22:02

I can't help wondering what his poor wife must think?
I've met her once and she was rather stylish as I recall.

Are you 15? Forty-something isn't that old, you know! It's not obligatory to wear a beige cardy with leather elbow patches and cords after 39.

YANBU

In my local park, I noticed a worrying trend among dads to wear tees saying 'Mr Messy' and 'Loaded' etc.

Very, very sad.

MammyT · 24/09/2010 22:06

The above would be allowed on Father's Day obviously :)

echt · 24/09/2010 22:08

How awful for a man to go bald. Shoot on sight.

Pan · 24/09/2010 22:10

40 plus dad here. Don't wear clothes with writing on them myself, but there MUST be something else worthwhile to BU about than clothes choice of someone you don't know?

just saying.

PinkieMinx · 24/09/2010 22:10

Surley there's a happy medium between logo's and a cardi - besides aren't cardi's all the rage? Wink

Pan · 24/09/2010 22:11

you mean zip ups, shorely??

usualsuspect · 24/09/2010 22:12

fucking hell ..send him to get some slacks immediately

quintet · 24/09/2010 22:23

Not saying he has to wear a cardi, he could be stylish without logos like pan Wink.
Surely the fact that my primary aged DS thought he looked hilarious counts for something
Everytime I think of him I can't help giggling Biscuit

40 is not old

PinkieMinx · 24/09/2010 22:27

Not old but old enough to know better!

TrillianAstra · 24/09/2010 22:32

Clothes with logos all over are crap full stop. No need to berate dads for having as much style sense as they did when they were 20, plenty of women don't exactly evolve their style either.

Hedgeblunder · 24/09/2010 23:05

Abercrombie have lovely fabric though -dp's friend is a a+f model so we get loads o free stuff :D

PinkieMinx · 24/09/2010 23:07

Was that DP's singlr friend? LOL

hobbgoblin · 24/09/2010 23:09

There is a fit dad at school who wears a bit of this public school teen logo gear. He looks all the more shaggable for it I am sorry to say. He has very grey hair and a bit of midriff spread. He also wears his collars 'up'.

This is all so stylistically wrong.

He is married though to my lovely friend.

Hedgeblunder · 24/09/2010 23:12

Haha maybe!!! Dp does the decorating in his!

dobbyssocks · 24/09/2010 23:33

Agree with Trillian Grin

Lynli · 24/09/2010 23:44

YABU Anyone can wear what ever pleases them.

PinkieMinx · 24/09/2010 23:53

Even if it's jeggings? Wink

wholovesyou · 25/09/2010 01:08

YANBU. Style does not = having other peoples names written on you. Even worse if you are old enough to know better!

echt · 25/09/2010 01:29

The fashion views of a primary-aged child are rarely worth considering.
