have stickers on their car saying 'powered by fairydust'?
It is not cute, it is not ironic, it is not even amusing. It is baffling and slightly odd that a grown woman would choose to drive round in a car that looks like a four year old has chosen to modify it.

Maybe the sticker was a present from a 4 year old. My children bought Snoopy logos for me to put on the car.

exexpat · 24/09/2010 12:51

I saw one yesterday with a sticker saying 'protected by witchcraft'. Um, no, I think Japanese engineering and regulations about setbealts and crumple zones are more effective, actually.

GetOrfMoiLand · 24/09/2010 12:52

My favourite car adornment of ALL time has got to be a purple Rav 4 jeep thingy, with a picture of a Disney Eeyore on the spare wheelcover, and "Shelagh" stuck on the rear windscreen in swirly handwriting style font.

I laughed like a pixie when I saw that.

If Shelagh from Gloucester is on here, you are a nutcase, but I love your car. Good luck when you coem to sell it Grin

I just assume the powered by fairydust stickers are on cars owned by twats.

GetOrfMoiLand · 24/09/2010 12:53

If my daughter boight me a car sticker I would say 'thank you darling' then stick it in her bedroom.

2shoes · 24/09/2010 12:53

yanbu
it is up there with fluffy toys in the back window..

bruxeur · 24/09/2010 12:54

I want one saying "Powered by diesel".

Same colour and font, though.

thederkinsdame · 24/09/2010 12:54

I find myself wanting to buy them a book on 'how a car works' but then I am a curmudgeonly old fart who hates pink. ;-)

kreecherlivesupstairs · 24/09/2010 12:56

I've never seen one. I do yearn for a sticker that has my DD;s name on thoughSad

bruxeur · 24/09/2010 12:57

Or "SuckSqueezeBangBlow says Herr Otto"

Sidge · 24/09/2010 13:10

I wish my car was powered by fairydust.

Would save me a chuffing fortune on diesel.

Do you think it's taxed???

CatIsSleepy · 24/09/2010 13:12

haha GOML, that reminds me of being stuck in a traffic jam behind a jeep with a technicolor picture of a young Rod Stewart on the wheel cover-kept us amused for oooh, minutes Grin

ShowOfHands · 24/09/2010 13:13

You know what, I'm going to go all out and suggest that when driving, I don't need extra reading material by way of crap stickers. Puts me off my novel it does. So all stickers need to be banned.

thederkinsdame · 24/09/2010 13:17

Rod Stewart???!!! Oh. My. God. Was the cover leather effect? Did he look all wrinkly?

Sidge - yes, I believe that there is a car tax fairy. She lives next door to the tooth fairy. ;-)

Surely being powered by Fairydust contravenes Elf and Safety...

One of my neighbours has the 'powered by fairydust' sticker on her car, along with a 'princess on board' sticker and personalised number plates with Playboy bunnies on. The car is a bright magenta Escort Cabrio. I think she must be driving it for a bet or as some sort of humiliation-based community service.

LetThereBeRock · 24/09/2010 13:30

I once saw a car on which several images of Cliff Richard were painted, including a huge one on the roof. They had also had the titles of his songs written on and around the sides.

thederkinsdame · 24/09/2010 13:30

Avril - that's hilarious.

Eau - maybe it's a company car and she works for Disney Princess magazine Wink

OrmRenewed · 24/09/2010 13:32

I fancy 'Powered by stress and bad-temper'

kreecherlivesupstairs · 24/09/2010 13:34

When we lived in Thailand we saw umpteen really badly painted coaches. Most featured Nagas or naked ladies or a combination of the two.

bluebump · 24/09/2010 13:36

YANBU, this is my all time most hated car sticker. I much prefer the one Orm fancies too!
