He earns more than twice as much as I do, but then I only work 40%. In a fulltime job at my current level, I would be earning more than him.

maduggar · 23/09/2010 15:50

100%

Rosedee · 23/09/2010 16:00

100% more as I an a sahm. However it is counted as our money not his as he is earning it for the whole family which is nice Grin

OrmRenewed · 23/09/2010 16:04

He doesn't. He now earns about 75% of my salary and that's the highest his has ever been.

Manda25 · 23/09/2010 16:05

I earn about 35k more then he does. I work 30 hours and he works 40.

I earn more than DP.
What is the purpose of this thread?

duchesse · 23/09/2010 16:17

Mine earns about 4 times what I do. If I worked full time at best possible rates (am self employed) I could earn nearly twice what he does.

MorningGloria · 23/09/2010 16:21

Laughably more; 5 x as much but I only work half a contract and he does full time. I also enjoy my work and he hates his.

Spidermama · 23/09/2010 16:25

We are both freelance so our pay varies but he earns on average 4 times what I earn. Angry

Spidermama · 23/09/2010 16:26

... and I'm going on a daily rate.

I hate to earn less than DH. Not used to it. He always says it does not matter, but it does to me.

I only work 3 days, so his salary would be maybe 3x of mine. Just seeing my payslip makes me want to cry. But then I wanted to go part time to look after DS.

Sorry about the rant Blush

Runoutofideas · 23/09/2010 16:32

I am a SAHM but even if I worked full time DH would still probably earn about 4x my salary. He is professionally qualified - I am not.

loveulotslikejellytots · 23/09/2010 16:56

Dh ears roughly 21K a year at his full time job then around another 6k a year at his second job. I earn 14.5K in the public sector so we have a 3 year pay freeze to look forward to.

Dh should be starting his new job at Christmas so he will start on 28.5k and then that will go up to 32k after a 18 month probation period. He will also earn the 6K a year from his second job.

The money DH earns doesn't bother me. All our money goes in one big pot and after outgoings and savings we both have our fair share of 'treats'.

Our wages have never really bothered us really as long as we have enough to pay the mortgage!

soapydishcloth · 23/09/2010 17:04

I earn £30k more than DP. He loves his job but gets paid in buttons.
My earnings allow him to do it.

My dh earns exactly ten times what I earn.

I'm a lawyer (part time), he's a VP in a massive pharma co.

Piccalilli2 · 23/09/2010 17:29

Dh earns double what I do, we used to earn exactly the same but my career took a back seat so someone can be there to pick the kids up from childcare.

EdgarAllInPink · 23/09/2010 17:49

£0.

Unfortunately.

hildathebuilder · 23/09/2010 17:52

I earn over 4 times as much as my DH. He has a PhD. I have "just" an ordinary degree. But I'm a lawyer and he's an academic..... It's always been this way
