Of course the women were silly to let themselves get pregnant by him, but presumably they are now the ones taking responsibility for the children. Hopefully they will be more carefulabout contraception in the future now that they have to live on benefits and bring their children up without a Dad around.

The point of the article seems to be that he hasn't learnt anything, probably because the state has just cleared up after him. He should be forced into having a vasectomy unless he can contribute to the upbringing of his children.

hairytriangle · 20/09/2010 17:47

"very very young-suspect he pulled the wool over their eyes somewhat"

he had his first at fifteen.

Who pulled the wool over his eyes?

This is why we need better sex education for boys and girls from an early age.

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:05

I guess you lot have never been left by a man whilst pregnant. It's not nice.

OK- the women should have done their research and avoided and/or used contraception but they are clearly either vulnerable or thick. Or both. At least they are looking after their kids-ish. He's the one who'/s feckless. The man should always insist on using a condom.

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:05

I got left whilst pregnant because I was vulnerable and stupid in my choice of partner. Also him being a tool played a part!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 20/09/2010 18:06

Just goes to show how many girls with low self-esteem there are hanging around at bus stops. I mean, you can see it from his point of view - won't wear condoms, fucks around then wanders off and if he doesn't get some disease then he's clear. But the girls? To settle for the blandishments of this tosser, and accept unsafe sex with him, knowing that there's every chance of getting pregnant and being abandoned by him? They must really think little of themselves, and are probably not that smart either :(

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:10

Some of you have led a very sheltered life. Oh come on- what is the perfect order fgs? Life isn't like that at all. You are assuming that amazing men just fall out of the sky on young woemn's lap with a ring in one pocket ready to propose?

I am really well educated, with a great career and still fell for a feckless looser. My good education did nothing to help me get married. I was still irresponsible. If it can happen to me what hope do these poor girls have? He's probably regarded as the local bad boy/stud and certain types of women (ie- those with low self esteem) fall for bad boys.

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:11

Me included.

GypsyMoth · 20/09/2010 18:13

well without these people, who else would there be for you all to look down on??

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:16

Also, some women are genuinely not aware of their partners history and children. Sounds like he deliberately targets young, vulnerable girls. Unless they do genuinely target him to get a free council house. Woopiedoo.

He should go to court for sure.

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:16

Dragonfly- excellent post! Provides excellent judging material!

GypsyMoth · 20/09/2010 18:18

some of the girls in the article seemed to have moved on and bettered themselves anyway....without there imput its not easy to know why they were hanging around buses etc!! and what attracted them to him

GypsyMoth · 20/09/2010 18:20

some of those girls may also be posters here on mn! everyone here has sympathy for those left holding the baby and ending up on benefits...you never know!!

disclaimer.....i DONT use buses!

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:53

I do use buses as I'm an environmentalist. I only pisk up stray crusties.

poshsinglemum · 20/09/2010 18:53

pick up

BarmyArmy · 20/09/2010 22:06

How anyone can see this episode as anything other than evidence of moral/financial irresponsibility is quite strange.

People can fuck up their own lives and that of their unwanted progeny as much as they want...just don't ask me to pay for it.

OP posts:
pigletmania · 20/09/2010 22:19

He needs a forced vasectomy, obviously he is unable to take responsibility himself and keep it in his pants or support his children. This type of thing make me so Angry.

pigletmania · 20/09/2010 22:24

Of course the women are just as responsible, but they are the ones left holding the baby so to speak, when this man just runs off and sows his wild oats elsewhere.

sunshineriver · 20/09/2010 22:56

I sometimes wish that I had gotten married and lived a comfortable life while bringing up children just so that I could see how I would judge single parents on benefits from that perspective.

It must be hard to go through Uni and support yourself, manage to find a good job and husband and get a career, buy a house and then start a family, doing everything the right way and see all of these young people becoming pregnant and single parents, or just families on benefits - and seemingly getting money and housing thrown at them, having your wages pay for a mortgage and the tax you pay from the money that you work hard for, to help give people with no jobs to live.

I say that wholeheartedly, I'm not trying to be sarcastic.

It must also be hard though to live with your name and photograph in a national newspaper naming and shaming you about being stupid enough to believe the lies of someone and become pregnant with them only to be left desolate and with a baby to bring up.

I really hate how single mums are portrayed but understand when we really are able to live very comfortable lives and do quite litterally get money thrown at us.

SolidGoldBrass · 21/09/2010 00:13

People, especially women and girls, and even more especially those who have not got much good going on in their lives, tend to want to believe the best of anyone who pays them attention. This bloke looks like an underfed rat but presumably has a few good chat up lines, the main one almost certianly being 'But it will be different with you Whateveryourname is, you're special.' The 'This time it's the real thing' fairy tale is something they'll have heard happening to other people (though mostly in fiction) and they will believe him (until he fucks off) because they are desperate for it to be true, for them to be the one who tamed the fannyrat, for there to be a happy ending.

UnquietDad · 21/09/2010 00:24

One feckless man. Of course, men who hang around and make good fathers don't exactly provide good copy for the Daily Hate.

thereiver · 21/09/2010 00:59

would appear a lot of guardian lies paper readers on here.
the woman are much if not even more to blame, he wouldnt use a condom, they had just met, they knew his history. STD is just a dialing code to these stupid women.

leaving that aside they never thought of any other contraception!

you will also find that most of them have several more kids with different fathers.
so yes they are after benifits and yes they are slappers

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 21/09/2010 01:14

My friend used to be a midwife and she said the number of girls coming in who really had next to no idea about basic biology and pregnancy, who were about to have a baby and had no idea really how this had happened or what they could have done to prevent it. I found it hard to believe but apparently this is still the case for a whole swathe of girls.

You must have a pretty low opinion of yourself to agree when bloke says "i don't do condoms", mustn't you?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 21/09/2010 01:17

Such a charmer, thereiver!

Is having a baby a really efficient way of making money?

fortyplus · 21/09/2010 01:30

It's been done on MN before but I think it's time to trot out Grin

5DollarShake · 21/09/2010 06:04

Single mothers come in for so much flak.

Men shirk their responsibilities, disappear off imto the ether, the women are left holding the baby and doing the best they can, and yet always, always take all the grief from society.

Here's a aman who's done this ten times and STILL some of you are blaming the women?

thereiver you sound just lovely.
