I hope this post doesn't seem icky I don't mean it to - I would really like to know what other people think.

Have 3 DCs, DS1 13, DD 11, DS2 8.

Have partners 2 DD's staying pretty regularly aged 3 and 5.

Thing is whenever they come their mum sends them with really short nighties and he never makes them wear any knickers and they play really boisterously and completely innocently with my kids for a few hours whole they are all in their night gear, so everything is on view as it were.

AIBU to feel this isn't appropriate esp for my 13 yr old DS? I have suggested to OH that it might be better if they wore some knickers...or am I being overly concerned about something which is just innocent??

I work in CP so don't know if my judgement is somewhat clouded - hence my post...

Wouldn't worry me and can't see why it would worry your 3 but if they are commenting on it then it's worth a jokey style chat. Keep the innocence for as long as poss I say.

lovinmybois if you said that to one of mine I would be very and a bit - it's none of your business and not your place to say anything AND why on earth are you uncomfortable about seeing a small child naked?

Ladyanonymous wouldn't your 13 year old say something if he was uncomfortable with it? He probably sees it in the same way most adults do - 'No big deal, it's a little girl, not some hot teenager at school' :) If your DP is happy, then it's all OK surely? Making them 'cover up' around your kids makes them all seem not part of one family... which you all are.

A difficult one but I do see why the OP is concerned, a 13 year old boy is likely to be easily embarassed. You obviously haven't been a family unit for that long (based on the age of your partners youngest child) so I think its a valid question to ask. Not really from a child protection pov but just as a general point on what's appropriate.

Its really not like these two girls are sisters to your children but hopefully in time they will be.

The best bet would be warmer pyjamas as the evenigs get colder. However I can't see how a 13 year old and a 3 year old would have any overlap of time that they would both be in nightwear or have I got that wrong?

Because there is a very high chance they will be very sensitive about all things to do with sex and sexual organs.

There is nothing shameful or wrong about girls this young innocently revealing their bits, but it is the 13yr old's home and it is important that his sensibilities are respected.

Don't make a fuss, just tell them to get their knickers on so their bottoms don't get cold.

I don't see why it would bother them-have you asked the older ones? They are very little girls-they tend to wander around in the nude at that age anyway.
I suppose that if the older ones are embarrassed you could buy some pretty pyjamas.

Stop worrying about whether it bothers anyone else at home or on here. It bothers you for whatever reason, so just say that in your house you wear pyjamas or nighties with knickers as your house is a bit draughty.

I am in CP too and have given this some thought...(out side of my work suspicious/messed up/warped mind) ... and I think i would leave it how it is until my son started acting in a way that would suggest he was embarrassed.

You should be thankful they wear nighties at all, my daughters are a similar age and charge round completely naked whenever they can. Including on the beach, where presumably any embarrassed 13 year olds just look the other way.

I would assume that the very fact that your sons play boisterously with the girls mean that they see nothing remotely awkward about this. Take your lead from them and don't let your work affect your view of something that is, as you say in your OP, entirely innocent.

they don't need to be taught, they will become self conscious and want to cover up themselves. Let them be free and innocent as long as possible imo.

I would buy them some knickers for when they come to see you.
