did anyone watch Hell's Kitchen USA (it's dh that likes it, not meBlush)

where she dressed up as a contestant and said she was a SAHM, and he called her out and said her food was delicious and then SNOGGED her - to shock everyone - and then she took the wig off and everyone went ooooooooh, it's his wife

she then dutifully trooped off while he told everyone the point he had been making - which was Hmm that it doesn't matter who you are, even the lowliest housewife blah blahdi blah

gross

how can she STAND him??!?! Is she just fick?

Really Greensleeves?

semicolon · 10/09/2010 21:13

I remember him moaning about what a terrible cook she is " on Monday she makes a big pot of mince, on Tuesday we have chilli, on Wednesday spag Bol etc.

Then she brings out a cook book.

He always seems coked up to me.

semicolon · 10/09/2010 21:16

My sister's boyfriend is a 'top chef' and seems to live on Haribo Hmm

Was hoping he'd come round and cook but he's too busy cage fighting Shock

'So much for the sisterhood bitches!

What the fuck has she ever done to you?'

OK.
There is a dishonesty at the heart of the sleb mother myth, in which women with huge amounts of money and domestic help use the media to brand themselves as normal mothers - or rather, normal but superior mothers. The purpose is commercial: this is all about making actual women believe the sleb mum is better than them so that they will buy their products/buy the products in the magazines that run features on them.
Tana Ramsey has not only allowed herself to be part of this, she has actively exploited it by 'writing' a cookery book despite not having any special knowledge or experience beyond her contacts as GR's wife and a few years ago supposedly not being able to cook at all.
Pointing out the inconsistencies and the bollocks in her self-mythologising is therefore a pretty good idea IMO and the idea that we have to hold off criticising what is essentially the public image of a woman who has chosen to put herself in the spotlight is pretty laughable.

I don't understand how Tan Ramsay can live with him. He is a complete prick. I used to work for him, and never have I met a more chauvanistic pig in my life.

AnxiousLand If you don't like the vastly used acronyms why use the site? Genuine question

  1. She tolerates ie condones the adultery
  2. She stays presumably because of the family money/business which her father in part runs
  3. She is only a housewife so has to depend on him so she has not much power. If she was on £1m a year as a partner aat Ernst & Young she might find life more fun and have a better and more fair relationship but some women think it makes sense to be a housewife, goodness knows why.
Thewormisturning · 12/09/2010 22:59

Er no.

Her cook book is excellent.
And she deserves brownie points for being open about her PCOS.

scottishmummy · 12/09/2010 23:00

there is no such thing as sisterhood, its a falsehood.a notion to control and subvert.creates a false notion of cant say that about her shes one of us.presumably so much for the sisterhood comment is that other womsn shouldn't say stuff about another woman. and then the "bitches"bit after sisterhood quip, well that was v ironic

i have no strong opinion about tana ramsay, she isnt high profile is she?or have i missed her branding

EldonAve · 19/09/2010 21:09

I saw GR today - his roots looked like they needed doing

GrendelsMum · 19/09/2010 21:15

Mooncup! Mooncup!

FellatioNelson · 19/09/2010 21:15

I have been in his company (in the loosest sense) and stood very close to him in real life and I must say (in spite of myself) he is quite sexy, and much more likable than he come across on TV.

But I agree Tana is a half-wit. didn't watch that Hell's Kitchen but I can't bring myself to give her the time of day because she has had cookery books published purely on the basis that she is married to him. Hmm

I can probably cook better than her.
