I have read a few topics on here over the last week after being shown this site by a friend.

One thing I have noticed that there is a lot of posters having problems with:

Neighbours
In Laws
Cats
Parking
Schools
etc etc

and come on here to talk about it/let off steam BUT not deal with the issue for fear of "upsetting" someone.

As long as your in the right give them a "talking" to, dont be a doormat or you will always get walked on.

PerArduaAdNauseum · 07/09/2010 13:02

Gosh, hadn't thought of that, thanks Newcomer.

What an odd post.

newwave · 07/09/2010 13:03

No problem, glad to help and judging by some of the posts there are a few "doormats"

So, make make a note of that everyone. Good talking to and don't be a doormat. Shall stick that on my fridge, thanks.

TanteRose · 07/09/2010 13:07

(Most newbies just start with a Hello thread. Whatever.)

PerArduaAdNauseum · 07/09/2010 13:08

Yep, and when I say something I later come to regret because I either don't have all the facts at the time or realise I did actually want to stay on good terms with that person, at least I'll know I wasn't being a pushover Smile

TanteRose · 07/09/2010 13:09

oh and YABVVVU Biscuit

paisleyleaf · 07/09/2010 13:10

Ok newwave, I think we should be alright from here (big thanks to you). You might want to go and spread the word around some other places: forums/citizens advice etc etc.

Is there a way we can get hold of you if we see anyone forgetting the 'talking to' thing and being a 'doormat'?

it fucking looks at me funny !

newwave · 07/09/2010 13:16

I am glad you have seen the light, if you now learn from this then my day has not been wasted.

Jodiesmum, one question mark is more tan adequate, this same to exclamation marks as well.

OP posts:
TanteRose · 07/09/2010 13:16

Mowiol · 07/09/2010 13:18

watsthestory - pssst! [whisper] you forgot about school.

thefirstmrsDeVere · 07/09/2010 13:18

Perhaps you could get it printed on your doormat. Then we need never forget (or ever come on MN again).

PerArduaAdNauseum · 07/09/2010 13:18

JodiesMummy · 07/09/2010 13:18
