ChippingIn · 05/09/2010 21:41

Grin
QueenSconetta · 05/09/2010 21:55

Minxie, cool then, x. Grin

Personally wouldn't do it because I prefer for someone to be totally sober in case of emergency. Probably a bit much but there you are. Also I'm not great after a drink so easier to just not bother.

About 9 months ago, you'd have been describing DH and me (except DS was 4 months).

It was our first wedding anniversary, we'd arranged a babysitter and made dinner reservations. But then a pipe leaked, causing our kitchen ceiling to collapse. We had to turn the boiler off, and it was down to 13 degrees in our house. So we cancelled everything and went to stay in a hotel for the night.

To salvage the anniversary, we took DS swimming in the hotel pool, and then intended to have dinner in the restaurant. It was closed, so we ended up with bar snacks and wine for dinner while DS slept in his pram.

From an outsider's perspective, it probably looked irresponsible.

DreamTeamGirl · 05/09/2010 22:00

Interesting (ina non sarcastic way) how many people are ok, as long as one person isnt drinking
Where does that put single mums, or those who are near as dammit due to partners working away/ posted abroad etc?

Are we to never have more than 1 glass of wine again?
if so I fail Grin

scottishmummy · 05/09/2010 22:02

no,to clarify more fun when both drink

Minxie1977 · 05/09/2010 22:13

DH and I get slaughtered drunk regularly sometimes - does it really bother people!?!

CommonSenseSuze · 05/09/2010 22:14

YABVU!

ChippingIn · 05/09/2010 22:40

DTG - nah just hang out with those of us able to multi task - drink & mind children Grin any middle of the night emergencies - call an ambulance as you should anyway... really don't get the big 'one of you must stay completely sober' drama - of course whether you are a single parent or just home alone, you can't drink till you're paraletic - but there's a big difference between a few drinks and falling down drunk.

Minxie - a bit drunk no problem, passed out drunk so you wouldn't hear the baby or would fall asleep on the bed with the baby - yes I would have a problem if both of you were that drunk... of course if you have overnight care for the baby - it's almost compulsory to get drunk Grin

Minxie1977 · 05/09/2010 22:42

We start off a bit drunk...

I never too drunk to dial 999 Grin

Minxie1977 · 05/09/2010 22:43

I am never - oops - but clearly too drunk to type!

ChippingIn · 05/09/2010 22:51

LOL

Morloth · 06/09/2010 08:26

I have a weekend away booked with friends this weekend, the wine is included in the price and shall flow freely...between the 8 adults someone will watch the younguns'

thesecondcoming you should never drink red wine whilst nursing a blonde/fair skinned baby, that shit stains if you spill it on their heads.

QueenSconetta · 06/09/2010 09:32

LMAO @ thesecondcoming
