We live in Dorset, and I don't really care too much if this thread is identifying.

Ds is really into nature and is very good at spotting newts, grass snakes etc.

We went to Thorncombe Woods the other day, where there is a lovely pond with tons of wild swamp life. It's always quite busy up there, loads of dog shit as soon as you come out of the car park, but it's really lovely once you walk on a bit.

Anyway, DS all excited about planned nature observation. but YET again, it's ruined because of bloody great dogs splashing about in the pool, and then shaking themselves over me and my kids, whilst their stupid owners sit and stare at them.

Grrrr

And there are numerous signs asking dog owners to keep their beasts on leads.

BTP - surely part of being a responsible dog owner is knowing where it's appropriate to exercise your dog?

In the pond at a nature reserve, with signs saying 'Keep Dogs On Leads', is not appropriate IMO, although the owners described here clearly didn't agree.

I'm assuming you wouldn't exercise your dog(s) in a field full of sheep for example?

er no, they even start barking when my elderly mum steps outside to peg the washing without saying a word! then they start to jump up to get over the bushes and fencing.

YANBU. Hate dog shit all over the pavement and in the forest. Hate massive dogs who run up to you barking, especially when out for a run. Hate dogs that lick DSs face when he has an allergy and comes out in a rash, and practically knock him over. Hate dogs who trample all over your picnic, and then their owner comes along who completely can't control them and expect you to think their beasts are cute Hmm.
