the thread titles are all so serious and worthy and make me feel frivolous and unsisterly.

Ok, now where's the point in attacking people congregating on a common interest forum asking for stuff to read because it is of interest? Do you go onto the pregnancy forum slagging them off for doing the same thing? Or the further education sub forum? - learning stuff? geeks. Or the recipes sub forum - look at them, sharing recipes they read from a book, losers. Similarly the DIY sub-forum, weight loss, pets, special needs. Losers the lot of them.

You're the one sounding like a cooler than thou 6th form bully.

Hmmm, ok queue.

But isn't that like saying all the posters on the Style threads are bunch of vapid fashionistas who are unable to get their
heads round anything more pressing than which fabric is IN this season?

it's not feminism that is the issue, it's being treated like you aren't a proper feminist and having the feeling that 'you' are not welcome if you haven't read three hundred and eleventy books on the subject, know very long words or are also a humanist and see many issues today that affect men and women and then want to discuss this and how it then affects women

If you mention men, you are greeted with 'what about the menz' and then accused of trollery or derailing

Prime example was the disabled adult and access to prostitution. The people with absolute knowledge about adults with learning disabilities, were not listened to at all and told it wasn't the place to discuss the in and outs of care plans and disabled rights (ie the same right to spend their money how they wish) and capacity. These were highly relevant issues in this particular story. But were greeted with what about the menz

Unless people just want pages and pages of sex industry = yes wrong, the end or pron = yes wrong, the end, sexism = yes wrong, the end .... the feminism section is going to end up with 10 posters all saying 'yes wrong' There will be no discussion as the rest of us can't be arsed anymore. Not because we aren't interested in feminism, it will be that we can't be arsed to use that medium

There's a thread running now on" If you're in a heterosexual relationship, how do you assert your feminist principles?"
You see that makes me really angry to read. Why the hell does it have to be worded like that? Why on earth can't they write" How do you get to be treated in a way that you are happy with?"
You know I actually feel sorry for the partners of these women.
The more often I see titles like that the less I want to join in any of the debatesAngry
