I would rather he stuck to his appointment days.
He was off to a wedding today (he informed me as he left)
It was a bloody huge inconvinience to me - I came home on Tuesday night to an empty fridge, I have 3 children - I kept them in the entire day on Wednesday to wait for someone that didn't show up. It cost me a bloody fortune at the corner shop to buy food for their dinner once I realised he wasn't showing,
I had rung the letting agent in the morning to check what time he was showing up, she said she didn't know as the landlord had arranged it and I should ring him and ask him (she also said she'd try and get hold to ask him as well).
It was 6pm when the landlord got back to her to say that actually he'd arranged for it to be done on Friday afternoon.
I waited in again on Friday afternoon, and he didn't show - again 3 impatient children who wanted to go out (as I did - I still have school uniforms to buy! - and I don't have them this weekend so can't do it now).
There was no phone call to say he wouldn't be coming (he's a friend of the LL's - so surely someone could have contacted me?).
He turned up this morning unannounced.
Now - if we look at your statement "would you rather the check wasn't done".........well - what if I'd gone out (I nearly did) - and he'd showed up and there was no-one to let him in to do the check? How would that be any safer???
OH - and his comment this morning when I answered the door and he said who he was and I said "oh I was expecting you yesterday" -
"were you? oh right, I'm here now"
And yes I know there's a lot worse than missed appointments - trust me you don't need to tell me that
