Do I keep it???

DH reckons if I hand it in to the police it'll just make it into one of their pockets, but I can't help thinking it might be some little old lady's gas money...or not!

WWYD?

How is your moral fibre today?

gerontius · 18/08/2010 18:52

Hand it in.

flibbertigibbert · 18/08/2010 18:53

If you keep it you'll only feel horribly guilty and won't feel good about spending it.

innocuousnamechange · 18/08/2010 18:53

Hand it in to the police. Someone will be worrying themselves sick, and the good karma will come back to you

monkeyfacegrace · 18/08/2010 18:53

Keepkeepkeep as long as it wasnt in a purse, obv!

expatinscotland · 18/08/2010 18:53

Is it in Winchester? If so, a bank robber robbed a bank to redistribute wealth.

Keep it.

scurryfunge · 18/08/2010 18:56

Give it in to the Police, it is theft if you don't and you may be able to claim it later if no one says it is theirs.

oneofthosedays · 18/08/2010 18:56

If you hand it in to the police you will get a receipt for it and will be able to claim it yourself if no-one else does within a set period of time!! FIL did this when he found a pearl necklace years ago and MIL has had it ever since. Do the right thing!

FloraFinching · 18/08/2010 18:56

either hand it in to the rozzers, or give it to charity.

Lauriefairycake · 18/08/2010 18:57

They won't keep it!

They will log it and you WILL get it back in a few weeks (it used to be 6 months but I think it's now 4 weeks)

and they will give you a receipt for it.

EccentricaGallumbits · 18/08/2010 18:58

£10 or £20 keep it.

£90 hand in and hope it doesn't get claimed.

rainbowinthesky · 18/08/2010 18:58

Really sad that this has to be a aibu. OF course it needs to be given it unless you're a scummy thief...

catherinedenerve · 18/08/2010 18:59

It's mine!

NarkyPuffin · 18/08/2010 19:01

Hand it in. Obviously. You'll get it back if it's unclaimed after a few weeks.

So YANBU. Your DH is making silly claims to try to justify keeping what's not his.

sanfairyann · 18/08/2010 19:08
