I hired out a car this weekend to go home to see family friends etc.

I'm appalled at the amount of people who either dont indicate or who completely ignore your existence as another motorist.

What is it with these people, surely they're not that lazy to flick the indicator on or look where their going?

twats the lot of them

mummysgoingmad · 17/08/2010 00:15

Some people should never have been given a license! Grr!!

OP posts:
corns1lk · 17/08/2010 00:16

exactly
they should be made to wear a donkey suit round John Lewis

Vallhala · 17/08/2010 00:19

My friend's yell to such drivers...

"INDICATE, don't masturbate!"

Perhaps you should follow his lead? :o

corns1lk · 17/08/2010 00:22

ha ha Grin
I need that on a whiteboard.

slhilly · 17/08/2010 00:28

it's a really weird thing, imo -- as OP says, it can't really be explained by laziness as it takes essentially no additional effort. I can't understand why people would behave this way.

cheesesarnie · 17/08/2010 01:21

they annoy me too!and people who do 60mph in a 30 mph zone, then do 30pmh in a 60 zone argh!!!!!dumb arses.oh and ones that drive in the middle of the road.grrr

Kaloki · 17/08/2010 01:24

Pet peeve of mine. YANBU at all!

Although, was out driving today and for god knows what reason, every other cunt seemed to feel the need to tailgate me. Angry They can't even claim it was because I was driving slowly (not that it's a good excuse either). Which pissed me off more than not indicating.

SexuallyInactive · 17/08/2010 02:48

YANBU.

I have devoted my life to this cause. Tailgating also brings out the ranting in me.

I would be a very happy woman indeed if these fuckwits would just piss off.

That is all.

squashimodo · 17/08/2010 03:01

YANBU, bloody idiots, I also hate drivers who just sweep out onto the road from their driveways without checking and the ones who sit there hooting at you when the traffic lights are red....prats

wahwah · 17/08/2010 06:33

Yanbu at all. Add in no lane discipline, late braking an d hesitation at junctions and you have thre people I know. They each consider themselves to be 'safe' drivers.

Having ridden a motorbike before getting a car, I reckon everyone should have a year on 2 wheel before they get 4. Certainly help them understand how dangerous things can get if you are inconsiderate...

throckenholt · 17/08/2010 07:33

that one bugs me too - I usually yell I'm not a mind reader - although you can usually tell what they are going to do by their position in the road.

Two others :

people on narrow roads who cut blind bends - and end up on my side of the road.

people who don't turn off their indicators (or fog lights) - surely that proves they are unaware of what they are doing ? They don't notice the extra lights and flashing things on their dashboards (or the noise of the indicator).

My mum used to say "It's a shame you couldn't afford a car like mine, it comes with indicators!" until she said it rather too loudly with the window down and we got chased for ages by a scary man! Also people who have their fog lights on when it's not foggy really make me go grrrrrrrrrr!

SwansEatQuince · 17/08/2010 08:20

Drivers in Perth are dreadful for not indicating. I swear that once you get to the city limits, you have to drive using psychic abilities.

blueshoes · 17/08/2010 08:38

mrsreality, far worse than not indicating is indicating wrongly and worse still, on a roundabout!

I am a lot of sympathy for your mate.

blueshoes · 17/08/2010 08:38

I have

Psammead · 17/08/2010 08:40

Drivers who don't indicate are a menace. I don't drive - I walk everywhere. It's scary how often a driver just turn into the road you are crossing without any indication of his intention. Very dangerous.

DuelingFanjo · 17/08/2010 08:44

I'm with you.

Those people who don't know the right way to indicate on roundabouts really piss me off!

IMoveTheStars · 17/08/2010 08:45

Ah, I love ranty threads about crap drivers

OP - YANBU Grin

Can someone who rides a bike explain why so many bikers feel the need to tailgate? Such a dangerous thing to do in a car, surely much more so on two wheels?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/08/2010 08:48

Ah yes it's annoying enough when you are driving along and other drivers dont indicate but when you're walking it's a nightmare! The amount of drivers that wont indicate to make pedestrians aware of what they intend to do is scary!

DuelingFanjo · 17/08/2010 08:52

People who come off a roundabout and cut immediately into the left lane despite the fact that I am already there... happens to me every single work day. Drives me mad.

Portofino · 17/08/2010 08:56

Don't move to Belgium - honestly you would EXPLODE! Grin

Heartsease · 17/08/2010 08:56

I hate this, it speaks of such a lack of social instinct. I love your mum's line racheyh.

Gleeb · 17/08/2010 10:27

Winds me up no end - I need a better hand movement to make to indicate (boom boom) to drivers that they needed to have indicated before I make road-crossing decisions... doing that clench-fingers-in-and-then-extend thing looks pretty silly.
