To find this offensive.....

Another forum I am on... someone posted this remark...

'I gave him the old one two though and lost him on a large roundabout lol. How pathetic though! Stupid jealous who has to drive a crappy slow as hell 7 seater family car because he has never heard of contraception and cant stop his wife popping the kids out!!!

I sent the OP a private message telling her(yes, it's woman) to please think about editing her post as I found it deeply offensive.

I suppose me asking if I am being unreasonable is a bit too late now though Grin

But does anyone else find this offensive or am I overthinking things due to wine consumption tonight?

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 14/08/2010 22:33

that is a fond salutation in glasgow.one for the mammy and granny

DetectivePotato · 14/08/2010 22:36

I'm surprised at you SGB

Normally you pop up and give excellent advice on relationships etc. I've always thought of you as a very wise person. Never heard you 'talk' (ok type) like this before.

And no it wasn't offensive. Not sure what is suppose to be so offensive that the OP needed to contact this woman about it.

southeastastra · 14/08/2010 22:37

but mn is wholly based on that sort of thread?

lunar is lovely too

ChippingIn · 14/08/2010 22:42

thelunar66 - I'll be interested to see what you think in the morning Grin

I am baffled as to what you found deeply offensive....

??

cupcakesandbunting · 14/08/2010 22:58

I'm not easily offended so probbaly not the best gauge of this type of thing but you seem a little bit sensitive, OP. Get yourself some Chris Morris DVDs and toughen up, lass!

thelunar66 · 14/08/2010 23:47

Thank you SEA...

in my defense... I did say I am currently pissed and likely to re-read in morning and regret.... Grin

OP posts:
ChippingIn · 15/08/2010 00:32

Yeah, I know you did, that's why I can't wait to see what you do make of it in the morning :)

I am still trying to work out how you find it offensive?? Maybe I'm just not pissed enough Grin

SolidGoldBrass · 15/08/2010 00:36

Tch, I had to be nice and polite to a BNP member today - being 'easily offended' is the mark of a dimwit.

ChippingIn · 15/08/2010 00:41

How come you had to be nice to a member of the BNP? Bet that was a lot of fun for you Shock

Tigerdrivesbackin · 15/08/2010 00:47

A nice cup of tea, possibly with two teabags, usually puts all this into perspective.

SolidGoldBrass · 15/08/2010 00:57

ChippingIn: I am a market researcher and this week's survey involves asking people lots of questions about their political viewpoints. We have to be nice and polite and input whatever they say, no matter what we might think about it (we are not even supposed to say, oh me too when they say something sensible).

ChippingIn · 15/08/2010 01:06

Ah

I did a temp job for a market research company once, phoning up plumbers asking them about showers - it was great fun, I don't think I've ever laughed that much at work since!!

... I can't see one on political view points being anywhere near as much fun :(

Have you been doing MR for long? Do you enjoy it?

TechLovingDad · 15/08/2010 01:12

How can anyone be bothered to feel offended by something, someone they don't know, wrote, about something they know nothing about, on an internet forum?

If that kind of thing occupies your mind so much, then you're doing pretty well in life.

SolidGoldBrass · 15/08/2010 01:15

I;'ve been doing it for a couple of years. I get to do surveys on all sorts of topics, everything from politics to which brand of wood sealant is the best. I do quite like it, very flexible hours (an awful lot of door-to-door interveiwers are parents), I like all the walking about (and it's very healthy) and I am very nosy so I love seeing other people's houses.
I don't like it when I have to work in the pissing rain because I have only got one more day on a particular job, and I loathe working on really crappy overlong surveys that the punters won'[t agree to do (because that;s hours of flogging round for no pay).

soggy14 · 15/08/2010 01:27

YABU - if it is possible for you to be undertaken then you are in the wrong lane. We'd have a lot less congestion if people kept good lane discipline. If there is a big enough space in the LH lane for someone to get by a car than that car should have pulled over into that space.

Tigerdrivesbackin · 15/08/2010 01:30

soggy - Grin

hobbgoblin · 15/08/2010 01:31

yerbut, SGB you are soooooooooo not just a market researcher are you?!

I think I guessed who you are and have been busting with this info in my head for months now. I haven't stalked you though. Just put two and two together and made either 2 or, perhaps 15!

FellatioNelson · 15/08/2010 08:30

What is she? A Jehovah's Witness?Confused

FellatioNelson · 15/08/2010 08:31

I'm off to stalk run an advance search on you now SGB.

FellatioNelson · 15/08/2010 09:10

No, still can't think who you could possibly be SGB. I knew I liked you, but I know I like you a bit more now though!Grin

LittleMissHissyFit · 15/08/2010 09:25

ooh, the intrigue...

[nosy]

SolidGoldBrass · 15/08/2010 09:40

Hobb, do I know you? The rest of you, do chill. I am not Caitlin MOran or anything. Or JOrdan.

cupcakesandbunting · 15/08/2010 09:53

You're not Tanya Gold or Liz Jones are you, SGB?
