We're going to Paris TOMORROW morning (flights booked and paid for and DD overthe moon with excitment. DP told me he had everything in hand and not to worry.

Just now he casually said - "by the way can you book the hotel - we'll need one for three nights in Pais and one night at Euro Disney and can you get me some more jeas please" Then he turned round and went to work

I wasn't worrying as he'd been so clear he'd sorted everything out. We're never going to get in are we?

Oh God its going to cost an absolute bl**dy bomb

Has he done this deliberately to sabotage your break?

My XP did this - he pretended that he'd applied for our DS's passport (we were going to Italy) and kept on saying that he'd forgotten to ring the passport office to chase to find out where it was (we had left plenty of time - four months). A week before we were due to go, he admitted he hadn't even filled in the forms. It was part of his gaslighting campaign.

Is that what your DH is doing? Or is he just terminally stupid?

oh nooooo

we've managed to get cheapish rooms via octopus.com iirc.

how could he not have mentioned already he's not booked the hotel?!?!

i hope he's grovelling

do you have travel insurance sorted?

fedupofnamechanging · 07/08/2010 10:21

I think I'd go to Paris without him. Book a room for yourself and DD and let him make his own arrangements

if all else fails, you could go via a travel agent today . they might be able to sort soemthing

MmeLindt · 07/08/2010 10:23

Oh, what a wanker. Kill him, no jury in the land would convict.

Try hrs.com

or lastminute.com

I would phone Disneyland and ask directly before you start searching websites.

dilemma456 · 07/08/2010 10:24

He's paying there is a vacancy at the Eurodisney hotel for 992 for one night. Should I take my revenge on his credit card?

OP posts:
MmeLindt · 07/08/2010 10:25

If he can afford it yes.

But it is money out of the family purse really, is it not?

If it is the only hotel you can get near Disneyland then you may have to.

dilemma456 · 07/08/2010 10:29

I am sure there are others, I'm being silly.

Trying to think this through, I don't want to spoil it for DD

If we spend tomorrow night in Paris, I can get a 3* for just under 100 for the three of us for the night. Then I can look for something near Disney then one night and two days there and come back to Paris for a couple of nights. There are loads of hotels on Late Rooms at reasonable prices so it may not be so bad.

Off to try and sort it out now

Ring your local travel agents. I always ring the 2 major ones in the town centre and they always help and can often do it cheaper than i can find online.

This could be done after you kill him to save on costs.

MmeLindt · 07/08/2010 10:33

Do you have tickets for Disneyland? When were you planning on going there?

moondog · 07/08/2010 10:35

God, I never book a hotel. I just go to places and find somewhere.

dilemma456 · 07/08/2010 10:42

geek - and of course I'll be needing to flee the country!

Mmelindt - I assume we do though we DP you never know perhaps he was planning to jump the fence Grin

MmeLindt · 07/08/2010 10:44

I would not assume anything, if your DP's holiday planning is always like this. Check.

Normally the tickets of the park are included in the hotel package.

I would go for 4 nights in Disneyland hotel with DD and yourself alone, have a lovely break without him. He can go shopping for jeans while you are gone.

QuantaCosta · 07/08/2010 10:44

Oh this happened to me in Amsterdam when I was four months pregnant. I had said I would pay for flights and we'd go dutch on hotel (flights were birthday present). I even searched and found some suitable hotels for him to book.

We arrived at the train station and started looking for a taxi but DP suggested we go to the tourist service desk 'just to check' that we were booked in to the hotel as 'he'd not recieved confirmation from the hotel of our booking!!!'Shock He'd assured me everything was sorted. (I am quite sure he 'forgot' to book...He has form for it!!)

Anyway of course we weren't booked in and everywhere decent was booked up. We ended up staying 1 night at a student hostel and then I then made him book us into a really expensive hotel (offer of going dutch now recinded!!!). We ended up being upgraded to a suite free of charge as they were over booked so it was a result in the end.

However I never take it as granted that he has done what he said he has done when it comes to arrangements (apparently that means I don't trust him....err well no??!!)

GeekOfTheWeek · 07/08/2010 10:48

Definately check if you have disney tickets Shock

If not then ring them direct to book hotel and tickets.

TwasEverThus · 07/08/2010 10:51

Did that at Las Vegas Moondog - ended up sleeping in the car. Friday night in Nevada - how naive were we??!!

dilemma456 · 07/08/2010 10:53

Thank you so much everyone I think we're sorted out - I've sent him the links to the relevent hotels and he's promised to do all the bookings later. They've all got vacancies (I've checked adn included backups in case te first ones fall through) I think he will do it though otherwise its Eurodisney hotel here we come for the whole holiday!

Still need to buy him some jeans though Grin
