Does anyone else think that Naomi Campbell

(for whatever reason. . . I don't want to libel the woman)

  1. genuinely didn't realise that the dirty pebbles she was given were diamonds

and

  1. didn't work out until later that the diamonds were in all likelihood a proposition for sex, them appearing in her bedroom late at night and all?

It would make sense of her reluctance to appear. . .

is she on trial? Anyone would think she was the amount of fuss people are making about it all. I thought someone much much worse was on trial but no one seems to be that bothered about his crimes. weird.

mamas12 · 05/08/2010 22:45

AND what she said ... that being called to help indite(SP) a war criminal i.e. a good thing to do, was a big inconvenience to her!

tbh I wouldn't know that dirty stones = diamonds. Surely she's more used to them in their refined state than natural...

DarrellRivers · 05/08/2010 22:48

She didn't improve her public image did she

DarrellRivers · 05/08/2010 22:49

Forget dirty diamonds

SixtyFootDoll · 05/08/2010 22:49

Sh emade a right tit of herself in court.
She's obv lying.
But i would like to know what 'gifts' Nelson mandela and Imran Khan received who were also there.

hester · 05/08/2010 22:50

Not her finest hour

SixtyFootDoll · 05/08/2010 22:50

After all what influence does naomi have on the world in comparison?

beanlet · 05/08/2010 22:50

I know -- hard to believe her appearance is headline news. Perhaps the prosecution merely wanted to garner headlines for the Taylor trial because they knew they wouldn't get them any other way.

What a sad world we live in when the trial of a genocidal maniac is only noticed because he once met a supermodel.

I thought her comment that she just wanted to get on with her life and that being required to be in court was an inconvenience was possibly one of the most outrageously arrogant comments I've ever heard. Heaven forbid that there should be any form of justice for all the victims of those conflicts (many of whom are mutiliated civilians) if it should "iconvenience" her. How vacuous.

fishie · 06/08/2010 07:46

well she is vacuous. always has been. i have always been puzzled by the n mandela relationship but i suppose he is just as capable of being star struck as any other man.

BelleDameSansMerci · 06/08/2010 07:49

She's undoubtedly beautiful but she's so cold. Even her outfit yesterday was totally inappropriate and screamed "look at me, look at me". You'd think she be a bit over that by now Grin

FranSanDisco · 06/08/2010 07:51

She excused her lateness with a matter of fact 'I'm always late'. She is vile and very thick so perhaps she didn't know the dirty stones were diamonds at first but I'm sure someone told her what they were the following day e.g Mia Farrow.

PosieParker · 06/08/2010 07:53

She is incredibly stupid which is made worse by an affected accent. Her arrogance is astounding.

LadyBiscuit · 06/08/2010 07:57

It's her callousness and utter indifference that appal me. She was very well-briefed though - she was so bad, the prosecution who has sub-poenaed her to attend then tried to say that she was a court witness rather than a prosecution one (court weren't buying it). It's really damaged their case. If Charles Taylor gets off, she has blood on her hands.

grapeandlemon · 06/08/2010 08:04

She is just vile. I am also mystified by the Mandela relationship.

coolma · 06/08/2010 08:11

foul woman.

PinkyMe · 06/08/2010 08:25

Does anyone believe she opens her door herself?

That she does accept a bag with two dirty looking pebbles in them and thinks "Oh look someone's given me two dirty little pebbles", What else could they be?

That she would accept a small bag of who knows what from two strange men in the middle of the night without asking some questions?

That her reluctance to appear was as a result of her "being inconvinienced" or "because she knows how bad the whole thing looks"

Does anyone believe....?

pagwatch · 06/08/2010 08:32

You have to admit though that she is one of the few public figures who can admit to multy layered, almost mind boggling stupidity and everyone nods along becuase it is actually possible that she is that self absorbed and pathetic.

What a persona. She should be so proud. Her legal team must see it as a gift that there is no level of stupidity she can cite that is unbelievable

beanlet · 06/08/2010 08:34

FranSan -- you said exactly what I was implying Grin

beanlet · 06/08/2010 08:35

and YES to pagwatch as well!

I agree with Pag.

Shabbychiclover · 06/08/2010 08:54

I know it would never happen in a million years but wouldn't you just love madame Naomi to be locked up in a squalid prison?
Even just for a day..needs to get off that pedestal.Awful brat.
