1. genuinely didn't realise that the dirty pebbles she was given were diamonds

and

2. didn't work out until later that the diamonds were in all likelihood a proposition for sex, them appearing in her bedroom late at night and all?

It would make sense of her reluctance to appear. . .

No don't put her in prison - look how her community service turned out in NY - a fashion parade. I assume she can turn on the charm hence the NM relationship but this charm never crosses over into my living room unfortunately.

I actually don't doubt for a second that, like she said, she gets gifts all the time. Also considering that she started modelling full-time when she was 15 (or so) I would not be surprised if she genuinely hadn't heard of Liberia before.
