I'm a bit disgusted at a friend's FB picture showing her 3 year old drinking a glass of lager.

What's the consensus before I delete her? AIBU? I've already hidden her updates because of the constant swearing.

So what? Had a photo on my old phone of DD then about 21months, clutching my blue wkd in one hand while chatting on her dad's phone in other with my sunnies on her head.

My dad has a picture of me aged 2 crying coz his beer was so foul. Don't lots of people have photos like this?

Delete her if you don't like her by all means but YABU to be so sniffy about this photo. BTW I am aware of my chavviness at drinking blue wkd

Alcohol isn't fun? You what?

I have a fab picture of DS1 with a breadstick, he is holding it like a toke and has a really droopy eyed expression on his face, exactly like he would look if he had just inhaled some pot. Is very funny.

We put champagne on newborn's lips in our family, nobody is an alcoholic.

We haven't had this thread for a while.

I have an excellent photo of my cat with her head in my wine glass lapping it up.

Cosmosis · 30/07/2010 18:28

Really can't see the problem. Even if the child had a tiny sip of the beer I can't see the problem, it's hardly downing a bottle of voddy is it? I imagine that there are a lot of people who had their first taste of alchohol aged 3 or 4 as a teeny sip of their dad's beer. So what?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 30/07/2010 18:41

It's not funny.

I trained as a peads nurse a few years ago, the late shifts in the childrens A&E were mainly taken up looking after children (youngest one was 8) who had been drinking. One young lad had been out with his friends, got really drunk and ended up spending the night asleep in a cemetary before he was found. Alcohol isn't funny, children should see it drunk responsibly and not used to create laughter.

OMG MORLOTH - that's cat abuse.

Chooks - yes, you do appear to be in the minority... I think it's called 'those without a sense of perspective', but don't worry, you're not entirely alone 'bellebunny' is there too....

hairytriangle · 30/07/2010 18:47
Biscuit
belledechocolatefluffybunny · 30/07/2010 18:49

No sense of perspective because we think it's crass to stick pictures of your toddler on the internet drinking beer?

Jeeze, you may aswell give them a hyperdermic full of heroin and take a picture of them shooting up, it's no different.

I have a photo of my dog drinking the dregs from a bottle of champagne... AIBU?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 31/07/2010 22:43

Pets are alot different to little children.

Yuk. Lager is piss water. Why on Earth would anyone drink it, much less clown around with it with kids?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 31/07/2010 22:47

I've no idea. Nasty stuff.

Oh dear I have a video on my fb page of my son (then 1) running around the front room with a can of fosters. It was empty and had even been washed out ready for recycling! I though it was funny as he was laughing like a loon and trying to drink from it... Ummmmmm does that make me a chav? I really wonder now as I read the thread last night about vest tops = chav's and my daughter wears them!!! Please tell me I am not a chavette...

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 31/07/2010 23:36

An empty can isn't the same as a glass full.

bumpsnowjustplump · 01/08/2010 00:09

phew wee... what about the vest tops?
