to be annoyed that ever time I try to contribute something I'm berated!

People ask for opinions, to which everyone will have different views which they are completely entitled to. Yet everytime I contribute my opinion, which I'm sure are going to be wrong/right. People become unnecessarily arsey with me.

WTF - MN for discussions, not full blown arguments? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?! Surely you can just give someone a reasonable answer, without having to bold names, and point fingers.

I really like this site, and it amuses me when I'm home alone with my son! But I'm considering closing down my user name, and finding something else to do.

AIBU or does anyone else feel like this?

Oh, it happens to me too. But it's all part of the fabric of life etc.

Nattynar · 24/07/2010 23:17

Thanks Beertricks

I just thought it would be a nice place, where there would be adult conversations with other adults.

Pleased that I'm not the only one, think I'll watch from the sidelines for a while.

Sorry to hear that you've had a rubbish week too

Maybe I'm too sensitive. DH is always telling me that I am.

Just some people are ssssooooo rude. I mean that's not how they would conduct themselves in real life, is it???

OP posts:
DuelingFanjo · 24/07/2010 23:22

I think you are being oversensitive if it's the dog thread TBH. Am assuming this is a thread about a thread?

scottishmummy · 24/07/2010 23:24

dont sweat it.participate and post.words on a screen dont take it so personally/seriously. certainly dont leave because you had words with someone.thing is sometimes you will get affirmative posts, other times not

aye the self proclaimed mn royalty.opining about da good ole days and newbies

Nattynar · 24/07/2010 23:29

No it's not about the dog thread in it's entirety. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak.

If I'm being unreasonable, then I expect some kind of comeback. But sometimes I don't think it's deserved.

And person on dog post apologised, so wasn't offended.

even worse they will announce self as "mn royalty"

Nattynar · 24/07/2010 23:34

Not to go back to dog thread, but I would be devastated if said dog hurt child, and I did nothing. That's what I mean by it.

Problem with this, things can be misconstrewn.

Yes Beer, hopefully we will agree. But even if not, I won't take it against you!

PiscesLondon · 24/07/2010 23:38

i don't know if the 'dog thread' mentioned is the same thread that i started? (MIL overstepping the mark) but i found all the replies helpful and am very grateful for mumsnet in that respect.

just keep contributing, you have as much right as anyone to be on here and some posters may find your opinion really helps them.

OnEdge · 24/07/2010 23:38

Yes I know what you mean, you just want a discussion and then someone starts being personal and insults you.

I have been called a spoiled bitch,
Spoiled brat
