To wonder where the hell is my shopping and/or money?

pissedrightoff · 11/07/2010 20:17

Last night I checked my bank account online, £105.00 is the balance. Fine, I'll do an online shop at asda to arrive tomorrow.
Total shopping comes to £80.76.

Shopping does not arrive today and when I call to enquire why, I am told that there were insufficent funds in my account.

I then check online balance,£24.24 suggesting that between last night and now £80.76 has been debited.
Phoned bank to make enquiries and indeed Asda have taken the amount and bank gave me the authorisation number.I ask if it is possible that it is a pending payment, bank says no, as it has come off the balance then the payment has went through.

Phone Asda back, not helpful in the slightest, They say that they have not recieved the money, I tell them I have an authorisation code from my bank and an available balance which says otherwise. They say they will look into it and call me back at midday tomorrow.

So I now have only £24,Very little food, live in the back of beyond so no shops, will have to take two buses to a tesco tomorrow to see how far my £24 will stretch for baby food, milk and wipes.

Where is my money if it's not in my bank and Asda say they don't have it????

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 16:49

Telling it straight.

Don't you just.
Yes I should have money/credit cards for a rainy day, I made the decision to clear all debt and get rid of all cards......... actually I was about to defend myself at length but have decided.......I need not

Thankyou

southeastastra · 13/07/2010 16:52

do people just post on mse like mn? seems a weird site to lurk on

MisSalLaneous · 13/07/2010 16:53

PRO, ignore them, if they don't want advice on how to save money (being MSE and all that), let them shop at Asda and get rubbish quality goods then. And for their sakes, they'd better hope they don't get made redundant or ill health or other unforeseen circumstances and be forced to live "close to the edge". Not worth bothering imo.

As a separate point, if this is what chavs looks like, there is hope for the world after all.

Comewhinewithme · 13/07/2010 16:53

I go on the grabbit page of MSE think I have posted once before this post.

I never realised they were so rude.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 13/07/2010 16:53

Goodness, it's so classy to tell people how much debt you are in and how you are paying it all off

TellingItStraight · 13/07/2010 16:54

LOL you guys make me laugh, She is living so close to the edge that things like this happen when someone points it out you moan. Yes I am one of the MSE lot, I didnt post I just laughted at how badly written the OP was. Only goodwill deserved is this post.,

PumpyFartyBum · 13/07/2010 16:55

Pro, highly sorry you have had to put up with three days of hell from Asda. I have been in the same situation, but never did get my shopping and i ended up getting my money bounced back into the account... okay rambling sorry.
I would ignore the MSE lot, they're a bunch of pompus ignorant people who think very highly of themselves.

I am actually laughing at the thought of a site been chavvy because it does not have a swear filter? come on MSE be more imaginative.

On another note. I really hope that Asda get off their high horse and pull their finger out and give you compensation for all you have been through. Although stress is pretty priceless.

MisSalLaneous · 13/07/2010 16:55

Uhm, laughted is not a word, so perhaps you shouldn't be commenting on others' writing... Just a thought.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 13/07/2010 16:56

It's called support and empathy TellingItStraight, something the MSE site is clearly lacking.

Fontella · 13/07/2010 16:56

I dunno .. but seems weird to me that they completely miss the point - that money's gone from an account (3 days ago) for goods that haven't been delivered - and start having a pop at PRO for her screen name, for not mentioning her DH soon enough for their liking; the language used in the thread (golly gosh and suchlike) start banging on about chavs and feminists and no wonder children swear .. and not a single solitary word about Asda, or even the bank come to that?

You couldn't make it up really .

PumpyFartyBum · 13/07/2010 16:57

TellingItStraight: You say you "lol'd" at how poorly written the OP is? Hm rather a funny post, especially seeing as you're not all that literate in your post.

Point and laugh?

Reapy · 13/07/2010 16:57

£105 a week before payday is living close to the edge? My word! Just how much do you earn a week?

swanandduck · 13/07/2010 16:58

Also, you don't put a capital letter after a comma TellingItStraight. I can't believe you have the cheek to tell someone their OP was badly written. This isn't A Level English here, it's a forum for people to express themselves.

Very curious to see if ASDA compensate in anyway - truely shocking behaviour on their part.

Once my sainsbury delivery was an hour late and they gave me a £10 voucher and deducted the delivery charge. I hadn't even complained.....Waitrose do the best substitutions and have, a few times, thrown in extra stuff for goodwill if items are out of stock that they had on offer.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 16:59

laughted, Did you now? Is that a swear word?

SanctiMoanyArse · 13/07/2010 17:00

'Giant mix-up from restaurant, first tried to deliver to the wrong address, and when I called to explain that that must be what is wrong the restaurant / take away place "manager" called me a lier (said they tried calling me THIRTY (???) times whilst standing at my door (entry is through a gate, so impossible!)), got really abusive and put the phone down in my ear when I said that I require them to refund my card and cancel the order. This was after more than an hour and a half. When the food eventually arrived just before 12pm, the delivery guy refused to take it back, and we binned it.

My friend once sat there arguing with a delivery driver who said he had signed for a parcel that ahd enver in fact materialised

The driver was looal and got annoyed and started banging on his door yelling down phone at mate to come and answer door, mate said nobody AT my door

bloke called him a 'fucking lying haflwit' (sorry MSE, you may be right )

Friend said I am at my door looking out on my road and there is nobody there

Driver said 'I am going to smash down your ugly great green door if you don't stop this'

Friend said 'I have a red door'

phone went down, half an hour friend answered RED door to find parcel there and driver running away rapidly

And Dh deals in electronics, mostly specialist and sometimes second hand; took delivery of a unit today- 'sorry amte it's soaking, van is leaking, yours is best fo the lot'

arrghhh

Fortunately seller had shrink wrapped so DMX desk survived, but.....

Reapy: After being left with £24 after this stupid cock up with ASDA having £24 is living close to the edge, do you not think? No one said " oh shit i have £105 a week before pay day i am skint" This was the fact that only £24 was available for the OP to spend and needed things for her baby. Can you read?

swanandduck · 13/07/2010 17:01

The person behaving like a baby on here is not PRO.

Fontella · 13/07/2010 17:01

TellingitStraight - what has living close to the edge got to do with the fact that money was taken from her account for shopping she never got.

In case you missed it, she checked first to see she had enough to pay for it and she did until Asda/the Bank or both **ed up.

But you ignore that and point your finger instead at the OP for not conducting her financial affairs to your liking.

She had the money to pay and that's all that matters. She ordered the goods and paid for them. That's the issue, nothing else.

SanctiMoanyArse · 13/07/2010 17:02

TIS you are so funny! Honest, you really are.

(I take it holidays have started in some aprts of the UK then?)

littlemissindecisive · 13/07/2010 17:02

Oh do be quiet telling you've obviously got nothing better to do
