To wonder where the hell is my shopping and/or money?

pissedrightoff · 11/07/2010 20:17

Last night I checked my bank account online, £105.00 is the balance. Fine, I'll do an online shop at asda to arrive tomorrow.
Total shopping comes to £80.76.

Shopping does not arrive today and when I call to enquire why, I am told that there were insufficent funds in my account.

I then check online balance,£24.24 suggesting that between last night and now £80.76 has been debited.
Phoned bank to make enquiries and indeed Asda have taken the amount and bank gave me the authorisation number.I ask if it is possible that it is a pending payment, bank says no, as it has come off the balance then the payment has went through.

Phone Asda back, not helpful in the slightest, They say that they have not recieved the money, I tell them I have an authorisation code from my bank and an available balance which says otherwise. They say they will look into it and call me back at midday tomorrow.

So I now have only £24,Very little food, live in the back of beyond so no shops, will have to take two buses to a tesco tomorrow to see how far my £24 will stretch for baby food, milk and wipes.

Where is my money if it's not in my bank and Asda say they don't have it????

Result....kind of. At least you will have food. How are they billing you for it? What goodwill gesture have they offered you?

Condensedmilkaddict · 13/07/2010 15:33

Not good enough Asda PR.

Mothers have long memories.

Fontella · 13/07/2010 15:34

Delighted you finally got your much needed shopping pissedoff, but the way they've handled it is still pretty disgusting.

What about all your time, the calls, the inconvenience, the distress - did they mention that when they were reminding you it wasn't their fault?

craftynclothy · 13/07/2010 15:34

Oh and AsdaPR I'm interested to know how suddenly you are able to deliver said shopping after 3 days of telling PRO that this wasn't possible.

caramelwaffle · 13/07/2010 15:34

Arrrrrrrr. I understand. They didn't actually apologise.

Interesting.........

gingernutlover · 13/07/2010 15:35

well at least you are getting your shopping but what are they doing to convince you and all of us that they are worth ordering from next week?

lets hope they can manage to take the money correctly this time without causing you anymore inconvenience.

caramelwaffle · 13/07/2010 15:36

The money in the ether account will disappear.....pffffff....just like that.

Interesting........

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:37

Eric-I'm assuming that the cheque to cover cost of calls will still be issued, in fact it better be as I used my company mobile to make those calls and my boss will kick my ass give me a row if I don't pay it back.

Maybe they will have the foresight to include Caramelwaffles list of goodies in todays delivery but judging on what we've seen so far I don't hold out much hope

pissedrightoff....is that it???!?!?!

Reapy · 13/07/2010 15:38

Oh thank god, they're finally sorting it out!

Are they offering you any kind of compensation, or just reiterating that it's not their fault?

veyron · 13/07/2010 15:39

don't count your chickens PRO. It has to physically turn up yet! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

EricNorthmansmistress · 13/07/2010 15:40

Once you have your shopping safely delivered you need to calmly write a long letter to Head office. Include what people have said here and inform them that you will be pursuing the media outlets as you want to highlight asda's flawed systems to prevent anyone else experiencing same.

Don't do it until you feel calmer though - not worth getting stressed about.

ASDA - do you really think that's good enough?

onadietcokebreak · 13/07/2010 15:41

I am boycotting Asda too now even though I hate Tescos more!

Am even going to learn how to twitter

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:42

Exactly, not counting my chickens, but I swear to lucifer if one item is near sell by date, or they give me semi-skimmed instead of whole milk for DD, I will have a fit.

Also I had ordered the 'Sunday' times, wonder if they've kept it for me??????

OP posts:
swanandduck · 13/07/2010 15:45

I can't believe they didn't at least offer you a big fat voucher after all they've put you through. I really can't. Flabbergasted emoticon.

KnottyLocks · 13/07/2010 15:45

Glad it's on its way. Trust they wouldn't dare substitute anything and that it's all present and correct.

I will henceforth boycott Asda in your honour.

Fontella · 13/07/2010 15:46

Also I had ordered the 'Sunday' times, wonder if they've kept it for me??????

Hahaha - love it! Great that you can retain a sense of humour after all this. Not so sure I could.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:46

Maybe they will surprise us all and send extra lovely goodies, now if I worked for ASDA here's what I would do....
Look back on my previous orders and using that information, put together at least a months worth of shopping/nappies/cleaning products for me, Include some wine/chocolates and flowers for me and some lovely toys for my gorgeous DD and some beer and kettle chips for DH

weblette · 13/07/2010 15:46

Good that you're finally getting your shopping, appalling that it's taken until today and all this pressure for it to happen.

Surely there must be a protocol for dealing with situations like this? It might be down to whoever does Asda's merchant services, ie. processes their card transactions - but given how often it seems to happen you'd think they would sort out a recognised action plan.

Learn your lesson Asda. This could and should have been handled so much better.

Can we have Andy Bond or Dom Burch on for a webchat pretty please

ShatnersBassoon · 13/07/2010 15:49

I'm confident that there will be a token item in the delivery that will convey how sorry and ashamed they are that their payment system put you in such a difficult predicament.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:50

Fontella- have to, I am of the if I dont laugh, I will cry brigade also the overwhelming support on here has buoyed me up greatly.
We will wait and see what 5-6 pm brings

OP posts:
caramelwaffle · 13/07/2010 15:51

Hahaha. The advert I can see at the top of this page reads "who wins? You decide"

I would say pissedrightoff, but she has'nt actually received her correct shopping, an apology and all the goodwill gifts (as outlined above). Yet.
