To wonder where the hell is my shopping and/or money?

pissedrightoff · 11/07/2010 20:17

Last night I checked my bank account online, £105.00 is the balance. Fine, I'll do an online shop at asda to arrive tomorrow.
Total shopping comes to £80.76.

Shopping does not arrive today and when I call to enquire why, I am told that there were insufficent funds in my account.

I then check online balance,£24.24 suggesting that between last night and now £80.76 has been debited.
Phoned bank to make enquiries and indeed Asda have taken the amount and bank gave me the authorisation number.I ask if it is possible that it is a pending payment, bank says no, as it has come off the balance then the payment has went through.

Phone Asda back, not helpful in the slightest, They say that they have not recieved the money, I tell them I have an authorisation code from my bank and an available balance which says otherwise. They say they will look into it and call me back at midday tomorrow.

So I now have only £24,Very little food, live in the back of beyond so no shops, will have to take two buses to a tesco tomorrow to see how far my £24 will stretch for baby food, milk and wipes.

Where is my money if it's not in my bank and Asda say they don't have it????

I wonder if this thread will hit the max post count before this is resolved?

AdoraBelleDearhart · 13/07/2010 15:03

Asda have messed up big style.
pro can we help?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 13/07/2010 15:04

I don't think any refund would show up until the start of business, 7am for some banks, midnight for others.

MmeLindt · 13/07/2010 15:04

He posted that it was being sorted about 4 hours ago.

caramelwaffle · 13/07/2010 15:05

Pissedrightoff - not good. Not good!

Go and sit down with a cup of tea and relax. Put your feet up and relax. Everyone is on the case for you.

As landrover says; back on track.

Psssst. Andy. Over here.

A phone call to Mrs pissedrightoff, right now, would not go amiss. It would be A Good Idea.

As your follow up phone call was rubbish I would have done better and saved your bacon not a success, I shall now suggest a goodwill token of TWO years supply of nappies. A bunch of flowers. £300 worth of shopping. Her original order (payment waived).

Plus a £200 donation to pissedrightoff's charity of choice

Silence is not always a good PR exercise

MmeLindt · 13/07/2010 15:05

Belle
Possibly not, but Asda could at least phone PRO and let her know what is going on. Since they have time to tweet about it.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 13/07/2010 15:06

I can tweet

comtessa · 13/07/2010 15:07

Call local paper as well.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:07

Some more light reading for Andy and other interested parties ...

PRO - Would still recommend Radio 4 shows to make it an issue that banks and stores need to fix these problems, not tell the customer "nothing we can do" or worse "not our fault".

Customer left in Limbo might be an idea for a subject, explaining how you have to wait for the money to return to your account, mostly because ASDA's systems tried to take money twice and they then blocked delivering your family shopping, but didn't consider it important to tell you there was a problem.

Contact You and Yours as their show is daily, so someone may speak to you today and try to get ASDA on tomorrow at noon...

Story for MoneyBox link

The link will first show it goes off to the BBC website, I used TinyURL for it as there's a messy web address

Keep your chin up PRO !

ASDA, if you are awake, you'd better pull your TV dverts as your reputation is sinking and those ads are just a waste of money!

mummychicken · 13/07/2010 15:11

Adding my support and boycotting

NetworkGuy · 13/07/2010 15:15

belle - my sister uses the Halifax and if she transfers money it is in my account in 2 hours

Problem here is that ASDA's system doesn't know about the transaction code where PRO's bank said "Yes, money available, use this code number to take it", so bank still holding it for ASDA, and ASDA cannot be bothered to cancel the request for the money to be held for them.

For any senior staff in ASDA, the same would not happen, as they no doubt have enough in their bank account and would not notice money taken twice and a refund made several days later. Bosses sometimes need to know what it's like when you don't earn thousands a week.

iamfabregasted · 13/07/2010 15:15

Definitely boycotting as well.

I'm a single parent on benefits, and if I did an online shop I could very well take it down to the wire and leave myself with only £20 or £30 quid.

Ridiculous Asda. Get it sorted. Now. I can send money to another A/C via a faster payment system and it is there in less than two hours, normally there almost instantly BTW

becstarlitsea · 13/07/2010 15:17

I was already boycotting asda after they were over three hours late with their deliveries to us four weeks in a row, made some weird substitutions, broken eggs, got half of someone else's shopping (I wouldn't mind if it had been nice shopping ), then missed half of my own shopping on the next one... then when I phoned customer service to complain I got a 'sigh' and they told me they'd put my feedback on file or somesuch twaddle. I told them I wouldn't be using asda again and they said 'okay'.

That link from fontella was exactly the same situation as OP - they clearly just don't give a monkeys...

NetworkGuy · 13/07/2010 15:18

Sorry, messed up MoneyBox link in earlier post. This time should work!

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:22

Networkguy- got it thanks, and thanks for all your advice

Another online shopper who is put off from using Asda due to this thread. Hope you get it sorted OP.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:28

They phoned and.......
Are delivering my shopping as per order between 5 & 6 pm.

Apologised for the inconvenience caused but were quick to remind me that they were not at fault but apologised that I had been stuck in the middle.

OP posts:
Fontella · 13/07/2010 15:29

Wow, ASDA PR department really are shit hot!

here

NetworkGuy · 13/07/2010 15:30

PRO - You and Yours should have ASDA boss in the studio on one Monday over the next few weeks, so would suggest them first, as they can 'have words' not just this week, but before he talks to them.

Even more poor PR if he won't discuss something bad happening to customers, and you could perhaps give permission for BBC / ASDA to discuss matter just calling you Mrs X if you don't want your name on radio.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 15:32

Whilst I am pleased to be getting my shopping this has been an outrageous episode of lack of customer service, the damage is done. They have lost my custom, and I would dare say hundreds of others due to this one complaint.

OP posts:
craftynclothy · 13/07/2010 15:32

is that all?????

HOW FUCKING STUPID ARE THEY?

So after 3 days of being with no money and no food that they apparently couldn't judet deliver they are now just delivering...3 days late, with no apology.

Do you know, they are just never gonna get it. No-one gives a flying fuck about whether the bank or Asda or some processing centre fucked up...they care about the fact Asda could have sorted it 3 days ago but couldn't be arsed and seemingly still can't say "Hey, sorry, we should ahve done something 3 days ago".
