To wonder where the hell is my shopping and/or money?

pissedrightoff · 11/07/2010 20:17

Last night I checked my bank account online, £105.00 is the balance. Fine, I'll do an online shop at asda to arrive tomorrow.
Total shopping comes to £80.76.

Shopping does not arrive today and when I call to enquire why, I am told that there were insufficent funds in my account.

I then check online balance,£24.24 suggesting that between last night and now £80.76 has been debited.
Phoned bank to make enquiries and indeed Asda have taken the amount and bank gave me the authorisation number.I ask if it is possible that it is a pending payment, bank says no, as it has come off the balance then the payment has went through.

Phone Asda back, not helpful in the slightest, They say that they have not recieved the money, I tell them I have an authorisation code from my bank and an available balance which says otherwise. They say they will look into it and call me back at midday tomorrow.

So I now have only £24,Very little food, live in the back of beyond so no shops, will have to take two buses to a tesco tomorrow to see how far my £24 will stretch for baby food, milk and wipes.

Where is my money if it's not in my bank and Asda say they don't have it????

Holy crap, pissedrightoff, saw this & retweeted it last night and am stunned that they still haven't sorted it out for you! Have you called your local paper & radio & tv stations yet?

Hey, my sister works for a French TV news company: want me to see if we can get your story across the channel?

Anyone in South/West Yorks fancy a demo outside the Leeds head office? It would look awful on Look North...

SagacityNell · 13/07/2010 12:28

Glad you have a good local shop PRO
But you still need to eat ...

boiledegg1 · 13/07/2010 12:29

You wouldn't get this sort of poor service from Waitrose. When the delivery driver forgot to drop of one of the bags from my online shop, I was without this bag of items for about 15 minutes. Yes, just 15 minutes. The driver was very apologetic and returned an hour later with a big bunch of flowers as an apology.

Honestly Asda, what a way to run a business. I am thinking to write this up as a case study in how not to handle customer complaints (and the power of the internet) for my local chamber of commerce.

MadwoMen · 13/07/2010 12:32

It's just as well. I need to get 120 cartons of ready made formula to take on holiday but could only order 24 at a time from ASDA. Off to do my shop on tesco. I would never order perishables from asda anyway.

What is the problem ASDAPR? why do you send out out of date/rotting stuff. why do things get forgotten or the wrong thing sent? Why is stuff always crushed/broken. I only order bulk nappies, formula, wipes, cleaning agents...how on earth can you forget the 4 huge boxes of nappies

Fontella · 13/07/2010 12:32

Anyone thought of emailing this thread to the competition - Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Ocada etc. who (judging by the comments on here) seem to treat their customers a hell of a lot better than Asda do.

It might give them a laugh if nothing else.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 12:33

So far I've

Started this thread
contacted my local paper
Emailed the Observer
Filled in a complaint form on the 'Watchdog' website

STILL NO PHONE CALL

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/07/2010 12:35

Oh dear Asda, and when you think about the ratio of lurkers to posters....

MadwoMen · 13/07/2010 12:35

deffo wouldn't get this from waitrose/ocado, they're lovely. But even sainsbo's and tesco are good.

veyron · 13/07/2010 12:36

PISSEDRIGHTOFF

Have you emailed the tabloids? I'm sure they would love to jump on this!

SagacityNell · 13/07/2010 12:37

I did think of that actually Fontella.

Maybe Sainsburys could get Jamie Oliver to deliver her shopping for their next ad

Condensedmilkaddict · 13/07/2010 12:37

I really cannot believe the shocking 'service' you are receiving.

Maybe we should all email them? The power of Mumsnet!
A "Give Pissed's shopping back' type of email.

I will...what's their email address?

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 12:38

How many people do you think have read this then? And how many people will they tell that ASDA left a baby without food? How many people in total will never spend one penny in ASDA again?

That's math I can't even do

OP posts:
funkychunkymunky · 13/07/2010 12:38

It could be a good opportunity for sainsburys/tesco/other supermarket to jump in and deliver pissedrightoff some groceries. That way she can say how wonderful they are and have some good publicity on the back of Asda's bad publicity...

AuntieMaggie · 13/07/2010 12:38

OMG I can't believe this!

MadwoMen · 13/07/2010 12:38

good idea to email to the competition, any email addresses?

carciofi · 13/07/2010 12:38

Sorry you have been treated so badly. Really hope it gets sorted soon for you. I had a bad experience with Asda home delivery years ago and have been loyal to Sainsburys and Ocado ever since!

Comewhinewithme · 13/07/2010 12:39

MilkNoSugarPlease · 13/07/2010 12:39

Comewhinewithme · 13/07/2010 12:42
