Hi,
My 11 yeAr old daughter is leaving primary school this year. They're having a leavers party on Monday and have to dress up as a superstar.

Her best friend and quite a few others are going as "Lady Gaga", I don't even know who that is.

I bought my daughter a lovely white dress to go as Marilyn Monroe and a wig, The wig was horrible, sent it back and have abandoned the idea. Then I got hold of a lovely pink tracksuit top and thought Vicky Pollard.

She's just put it all on, the bling, make-up, few Vicky Pollard badges, hair combed up into a high pony tail. Looks great. But she's worried that the boys will say she looks like the real Vicky Pollard..she doesn't, but know what she means.

Should I abandon the idea? Is Vicky Pollard a superstar anyway? Just wondered what others thought. Should I stick with Marilyn Monroe (daughter not keen) or go with Vicky Pollard (daughter keen but with reservations)? Has anyone any other ideas?

Now she's saying Marilyn Monroe.

Going with this as more inkeeping with the glamour thing I think they're aiming for. Make up-wise is easy, red lippy, bit of mascara and a beauty spot. Hoping to get some sort of blonde spray for her hair today. Not sure whether I'll find any, but I'll sort it!

Wow, just dropped my dd off. Everyone looked great, Paris Hilton was there, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Cheryl Cole, the Pink ladies from Grease, Joker from Batman and even a few Santa Clauses.

Lot of the boys were footballers. But the variety was great. Dd looked very glam as Marilyn all in white and her best friend as Lady Gaga all in black made a really god contrast.

They finished school at 3.15pm and the party started at 4pm...I could never get ready that fast!

Thanks for the discussion about the outfit. She would have been ok as Vicky Pollard but the Marilyn one fitted right in with what her mates were wearing!
