I know this might seem mad but I think "I am".
On quite alot of occasions Ive come across this thought.
I take allergy tabs for the common allergies, I suffer with hayfever, & skin allergies.
But on Saturday I woke with "what I thought" was the start of a cold. My nose constantly itched & run,I was sneezing, my eyes were puffy & running. I suffered all through work feeling like crap.
The next morning I woke up with a clear nose, eyes ok, minimal sneezing (for me).
I knew I couldnt have a 1 day cold! But thought back to what I used to wash in the shower. Id used Palmolive Arromatherapy shower foam. When Ive previously used the same make, but in a shower gel or foam bath, & always suffered with the same feeling.
Ive also bought a lavender pillow & reacted the same.
Has anyone suffered from this with lavender, or anything else caused you to react in this way.

My sister has reacted to a lavender handcream (which was basically aqueous cream with lavender oil added as it was home made)..so it's not impossible.

I thought this thread was about something entirely different

I don't see any reason why you can't be allergic to lavender - eliminate it from your environment and see if your symptoms go away. If they do, you can re-introduce it to be double sure that that's what is causing it.

I stumbled across a peculiar bullseye thread last night whilst searching for something else last night . How wierd is that!

I was about to ask to what lavender you were refering to

It may be, remove it for a while and if the symptoms dissapear there you have your answer. Good luck.

skinnycow - my dd is like that. You can tell if she's brushed her teeth by whether she's sneezed or not!

skinnycow - dh has a sneezing fit if he eats mints and looks at the sun. Weird.

BTW The Shower foam etc all had lavender in it.
But call me dim, but nobody I know as ever spoke of an allergy of it,nor have I read anywhere about it.I certainly have never heard of a relation to mints & toothpaste
The sudacrem is a new one on me also.
But thanks for all advise.
What did you expect the thread to be about? Marthamoo & Lucycat?

no one's taking the piss jenny- your question was unfortunate but you weren't to know. there was once a poster who went under various variations of lavender- things got fairly nasty when her dh came on and got nasty. she was banned but kept coming back

the site can be a bit of a pain at times, jenny1973, but its also very useful to talk to other people with the same problem. Not that I know anyone allergic to lavender, I'm afraid.

For people thinking about a poster called lavender it can be really distressing when you are diagnosed with an allergy. Please think about how you'd feel if you'd just discovered you had an incurable problem.

Thanks for that tatt. I really appreciate it. I do learn alot from MN but some times Im really put off asking something. Do you think its worth asking My Dr about testing?
