Calling Time on Wine - 100 Day Reset | Thread 2: One Day at a Time - Together

Welcome to Thread 2 of Calling Time on Wine 100 Day Reset 🍵

If you’re here, you’re doing something genuinely brilliant. This reset isn’t about perfection, shiny lives, or pretending it’s easy. It’s about choosing ourselves one day at a time, even when life keeps lobbing chaos our way.

We’ve already proven we can sit with hard evenings, bad days, stress, boredom, celebrations, and still not reach for wine.

Thread 2 is about keeping the momentum going, supporting each other, being honest when it’s tough, celebrating the wins and remembering why we started when motivation wobbles. Clearer heads. Stronger bodies. 💪

So pull up a chair, grab your tea, water, or AF alternative, and keep going. You are not doing this alone - and you are doing so well. 💛

Thanks Swifty. I’m feeling a bit better today. I’m still a little sluggish mentally but definitely getting closer to normal. I was in a deep sleep when my alarm went off - annoying but equally felt good to know I’d slept well. I remember at the start of this year it took weeks for my sleep to improve.

Also (and sorry, this is huge TMI) despite my heavy drinking session I didn’t get any loose stools afterwards. When I was drinking heavily for months last year I had this almost daily, to the point where I thought I had IBS. It just shows how much my gut health has hopefully improved that this binge session didn’t affect my stools.

TwoNicePuppies · 08/04/2026 09:17

Today is my day 100 🥳 I cannot believe how easy it was! Now the work begins to keep with it 😬

SwiftyFifty · 08/04/2026 10:41

@TwoNicePuppies Well done you! I’m tomorrow it’s unbelievable isn’t it.
another benefit I’ve noticed is thst my hay fever is really really much better than other years. I have suffered badly but just a slight snuggle today as the pollen count is high but otherwise it’s been great!
Anyone else find that?

IjustbelieveinMe · 08/04/2026 11:05

Well done on the 100 days 🙌 amazing work.
cant wait to join you next week!

one thing I have noticed since being sober is how much more noticeable the pigmentation in my face looks compared to when I was drinking. Before I had a more rosey colour on my cheeks but now it’s gone and I am noticing more skin pigmentation from the sun. I have upped my skincare routine to deal with it and wearing spf like a boss. But how astonishing after all these years of thinking it was a healthy rosey colour, it was due to alcohol and I would say it’s only really become noticeable in the last week.

needastrongone · 08/04/2026 12:02

Morning.

Bloody amazing we’ve all got this far well done @TwoNicePuppies and everyone else too .And I mean this with or without blips. I’m deducting a day for my blip, and getting to the weekend before I declare 100 (I did start on Boxing Day), which is probably over 100 days, but adding a couple of extra days for good measure, and I’m sort of not counting now anyway, I just know I want to continue. This only makes sense in my head!!

@freshstart2026 - Don’t forget you’ve gotten rid of a big toxin from your body after being sober for so long, so when you did drink, you’re body was probably more sensitive to it and it probably affected you more. I’m glad you feel a bit better today anyway. You honestly don’t have to put yourself in social situations that cause anxiety you know - would any other the folk you saw at the weekend enjoy a walk or a coffee or a run or something where you feel less anxious? That’s totally fine.

therockingbird · 08/04/2026 13:40

Yay! 🥳 @TwoNicePuppies congratulations! You’re right though.. passing the 100 days point is amazing but now the work begins keeping that focus 🫣 I have no desire to drink - not even one. I think this is it for me!

Well done and congratulations everyone who has reached their 100 days 🥳

I really don't know what's happened but the past few days I've thought about having a glass of wine. Maybe it's the weather or because I know in a few days my 100 days will be up. Whatever it is the voice has appeared from no where and is trying to justify me buying and drinking a bottle of wine 😪 I've not had any, stayed dry and thought about my whys. But even my whys don't seem strong enough (actually they must be doing something because I've not drank) in myself I really don't want to drink and go back the way, so will keep plodding along 🤞

Hedjwitch · 09/04/2026 11:03

Well done and medals to those who have reached 100. I am.off the pace but fighting and on day 83.

anewyearthisyear · 09/04/2026 13:37

Day 99 here. Ladymucklepuddle I am the same. I have thought about it more in the past few days than I have since the beginning. I think easter dinner was a bit of a trigger. Haven't done it though.

SwiftyFifty · 09/04/2026 15:10

I reckon it’s because sub consciously your brain has been counting down to the 100 days and now we are ( almost or) here it thinks a party is approaching!

Raindancer101 · 09/04/2026 16:57

Checking in on day 100. I know for sure that I won't be drinking tonight so it's in the bag! 🥳 100 consecutive days alcohol free and I've done it by choice, rather than pregnancy enforced. It's a big deal for me as I honestly didn't think I had it in me.

Congratulations to all hitting this milestone...... What do we do now? 😂

Feelthejoy · 09/04/2026 18:23

Another one here quietly rejoicing at this milestone and achievement! Well done us! Also, learning to celebrate without opening a bottle 🍾 😂🥳

therockingbird · 09/04/2026 19:15

Oh my Lordy!!! Just ticked off day 100. I won’t be celebrating ☺️ I just couldn’t undo all that hard work. We need another thread 🏆 well done to all those who’ve hit the target and also those following us in the next couple of days - an absolutely fantastic achievement.

Loving reading all the 100 day posts. Well done to everyone this thread has been such a massive help. Day 94 I can't quite believe it, the past few days I've been having feelings of real joy.

Hedjwitch · 09/04/2026 20:28

Ooh I miscounted. Day 87! That's given me a wee boost. On the herb tea tonight.

Me too, I think I'm addicted to herbal tea now. I've started wearing my smart watch at night again the stats compared to when I was drinking are good evidence. My deep sleep is a between 30-40% compared to before it was 25-30%.

Iamateadrinker · 10/04/2026 08:45

Made it
100 days! I've learned that I can deal with stressful events/ loneliness/ boredom in different ways. I've enjoyed AF beer and lager ( and I don't like "real" versions - go figure).
Well done to everyone wherever you are on the journey, I've had lots of day ones and stretches of AF living, tried the apps/ online support over the years but this thread has made a big difference so thank you everyone.

HelloSkeletonFace3 · 10/04/2026 09:17

Well done to so many of you - very inspirational and so happy for your achievements x

needastrongone · 10/04/2026 09:25

Morning!

100 days here too.

Just a huge well done to everyone. I was thinking yesterday about the first week of going AF and now, and how much reflection I’ve done, and have so much more understanding about my triggers and how to deal with them going forward. Mostly, whatever the trigger - it does pass if you allow yourself to sit with it for long enough, and also that what works for one trigger doesn’t necessarily work for another (so there may be scenarios I haven’t encountered yet - but I’m confident that I have the tools to cope).

Just ANOTHER acknowledgment from me about you wonderful lot. Theres a lot of self help out there, lit, pods, SM groups - not one of them is in any way as brilliant as the people on this fabulous thread.

Talking of threads, I’ll make another one now for those of us that want to navigate another 100 days. I’ll be back to post the link.

Hedjwitch · 10/04/2026 10:11

I'll stay on this thread with the chasing pack and hopefully join the new thread at some point.

needastrongone · 10/04/2026 10:13

Ah hedjwitch, do join us! The number doesn’t matter at all - just the support. I honestly think you’ve done so well to climb back on the proverbial wagon. I’ve only been counting loosely anyway xx

Ladymuckypuddle · 10/04/2026 11:48

Day 100 for me today 🥳 I've just joined the new thread, but wanted to say thanks for the kind words of wisdom from my last post. I think you guys are right it's my brain saying well that's 100 days done, you have achieved what you set out to do. I didn't have any cravings yesterday but did think about my whys again and spent some time on me. Works been busy and stressful (identified a trigger) so last night I done a full body moistureiser and really felt the benefits of relaxing with it. Oh and also rather than using my bedside lamp, I light a candle and felt all cosy in a Downton sort of way 🤣

See you all over on the new thread Grin

Raindancer101 · 10/04/2026 16:14

It worked out pretty ideal with the thread filling up just as we completed the 100 days! See you on the new thread!
