When did your 2nd baby come compared to 1st?

Completely anecdotal I know, but just intrigued if second babies generally come earlier or later than first babies.. 😊

1st - 40+6, 2nd - 41 after a sweep, 3rd - 39+5, 4th - on her due date after 2 sweeps, 5th - 40+5 after a sweep.

DS1 6 days late - happened naturally, just gas and air for pain relief, arrived in just under 5 hours.
DS2 12 days late - had to be induced, two sweeps had failed, had an epidural and a ventouse delivery. From start to finish it took just over 5 hours.

I preferred the second delivery ironically, thought I was going to die the first time round cause it was so quick and hurt so much. The midwife told me that she thought I'd been so scared that I'd stopped myself going into labor the second time.

No1, technically 40+2 but was born at 00:50 so more like 40+1 and a little bit
No2, 39+4, born mid afternoon
No3, 41 exactly, born 8pm

My first came at 41+6, my second was 38+2

DS1 born at 39+2 (Labour started on 38+6!)
DS2 born at 41+5 (Active labour 1.5 hrs!)

ooh this has been really interesting! Most people seemed to have second babies earlier than first!

DC1 8 days late
DC2 7 days late
DC3 3 days early

18 days after the first did. First was four weeks early, second was ten days. Third was two days early and each got two pounds bigger almost.

First one was exactly 7 days late, completely natural birth.

Second one was winched out of the sun roof 3 weeks early. (She was already 9lb by that stage...)

Both a result of fertility treatment so I knew exact dates.

I know someone who had her first at 28 weeks. Second went a fortnight overdue. Third came on the due date.

She's done it all 😀

My first was 9 days late.
Second one was 11 days late.

Second 38 + 4 days

If I had a third I'd be expecting it to arrive at 38 + 3 days Smile

#1 ELCS weekish early
#2 VBAC bang on due date!
#3 VBAC weekish late
#4 VBAC 10ish days early

2, 3 & 4 all within a few oz of each other so def fully cooked. #1 2lb lighter so def out too early 😆

First baby I was induced at 40+6 and she was born 41wks by emcs.

Second my waters went late at night as I had just got in bed at 37+4. She was born 37+5 also emcs. Was meant to be planned section at 39wks but I went in to labour pretty much as soon as my waters broke.
