When did your 2nd baby come compared to 1st?

Completely anecdotal I know, but just intrigued if second babies generally come earlier or later than first babies.. 😊

First 38+2

first came 39+6, second was twins and they came at 38 weeks exactly, on the day they were due to be evicted anyway (on account of being twins).

First five days late - the midwife thought it was probably more and my dates were wrong
Second six weeks early

1 - attempted due date but my cervix wasn't co-operating so ended up 1 day over
2 - 2 days after due date (a Saturday, the sweetie) - cervix still didn't co-operate but was persuaded earlier this time

My older brother was induced as at least 2 weeks late but I ( second child) was born on due date naturally. I looked like following similar pattern as my mum as my dc 1 was 12 days late ( would have been induced 2 days later) but my second preg was elcs at 37 weeks as twins, so can't say for sure. I think second dc come earlier from what I've heard but purely anecdotal.

My second came about 45 minutes after the first WinkGrin

Really though I was induced at 36 weeks for my twins, third - singleton, completely uncomplicated - came on his due date. Alarmingly fast!

DC 1 born on due date
DC2 went into labor on due date, born next day.

DD1: 7 days overdue.
DD2: on due date.

Also DD1: 25 hours of labour
DD2: 3.5 hours of labour

First baby , 12 days late, 13 hour labour.

Second baby, missed due date by 2 hours...but had me in labour for over 24 hours.

1st 2 days early
2nd 2 weeks late. Would probably still be there 23 years later, if they hadn't turfed him out!

Ds1 came 10 days early. Ds2 came 7 days early, and ds3 was about 7 days early too, so I definitely didn’t follow the trend of subsequent babies coming sooner. They went down in weight too, when I’d certainly heard that second and subsequent babies tend to be bigger.

2nd baby 39+6 so not much in it!!

I sometimes wonder if the pattern would've continued if there'd been a DC4.
