here we are !!!

OP posts:
Niecie · 29/01/2010 10:51

It is a PITA isn't it?! 3 days though

I have crops that need harvesting!!!

Thankfully they are 10 hour crops that were ready about 9.30am so not in imminent danger of demise but even so, I am missing out on prime strawberry planting time - I was going for the second mastery star today and the 3rd on by the beginning of next week and now my plans lay in tatters.

I can't play Scrabble either which means my friend will be disappointed too, sat all alone in her little shop, bored and denied her only communication with the outside world.

simpson · 29/01/2010 11:07

LOL at bafta

Have you tried different brouser??

Firefox did not like new version of flash so I think I did switch to IE for a bit till my dad sorted problem (being more computer savvy than me )

Niecie · 29/01/2010 11:24

I would do that.......if I had any idea what you meant.

I can use computers very well, but if you ask me something like that I am stumped. Much like I have no idea of the working of the internal combustion engine but I can drive a car (despite what DH might suggest).

We are overload with anti virus/spam/trojan/adware software at the moment due to having our IP address hijacked to send out spam. We have been threatened with having our internet cut off by our ISP but we are all clear now. However, everytime we try and do something new we get, 'are you sure you want to do that?' from our 'Spy-bot - Search and Destroy' software (love that name, appeals to the drama queen in me and sounds like a computer game) It seems to want to block everything.

However, as I said, I have tried many times to download Flash players over the years on several computers and none of them like it so I am not sure that tackling the various ramparts of our security is going to make much difference.

But I really don't know what I am talking about.

Waiting might be the best option. Safer.

desertgirl · 29/01/2010 12:28

well I got my 750K expansion on CL... not sure I can be bothered to go for the next one, will see.

And very very nearly at level 33 on ZW, just need to find two more speckled bears (pesky things) and breed a cougar (finally managed to send one of them back to its owner, yeah!)....

simpson · 29/01/2010 12:58

desertgirl - I know how you feel re CL

Neicie - I mean do you use firefox or Internet Explorer etc? Maybe try using a different one...

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 12:59

oh desergirl - you silly mare - you should have said you needed that cougar (and the speckled bears) to level up - you could have kept it - I've still got loads of animals to breed to get up to level 34 so could have lived without the cougar (ie could have bred another - and actually I've just realised I've got 5, and one "on the boil"...........

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 13:03

right check you gifts

Niecie · 29/01/2010 13:24

Simpson - I use explorer.

Strangely, have moved to desktop to do some work and find that everything is tickety boo on that machine.

So not a FB problem, it is my machine.

Poo.

I might try firefox but haven't ever used it before. Can you download it for nothing?

Anyway, harvested FV and now doing CL although need to go to Post office before DSs get out of school so still won't be able to process all my harvests. Am losing ground on you rapidly!

Niecie · 29/01/2010 13:31

Just to make sure I'm not missing a trick, there is nothing to do with the banana except sell them is there (on CL I mean).

I predict a smoothie machine in due course though. Can't think of anything else they can be used for.

Thought of banana jam....

simpson · 29/01/2010 15:42

Have just harvested my first banana tree too and was just wondering what to do with it

Think you can download firefox free...

desertgirl · 29/01/2010 16:37

Oh musical confectionary one, thank you so much for my gifts, am now (sadly untrumpeted!) on level 33, which should keep me busy for a while, breeding, and trying to figure out how on earth to get my visitor number high enough. Of course I had to give you your cougar back it had been preying on my conscience for days! and I had been trying to get those speckled bears for days too, so the cougar was a minor matter really... anyway, thanks a million for all three.

Niecie firefox is free, yes, is ace. Smoothie machine sounds about right, I had been a bit bemused as to what they planned to do with bananas - finally got a couple of banana trees planted in my new space.

was a bit miffed to (eventually) realise that for the whole hassle of making blueberry jam, you make ONE measly coin (as opposed to just selling the blueberries and the honey separately) not doing that again!

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 16:47

musical confectionary one - I like that >>

you're welcome - I realised once I'd accepted that cougar back that I had 5, plus one that's currently being bred.

And I had enough speckled bears to give some of those away as well.

I'm deesperate to buy some of the new animals they've released..........but I really want to move up to the next level before then otherwise it's just going to take me longer to do it (as I'd have to breed yet MORE) animals.

Hopefully some time next week I'll be on level 34 and can buy some new animals

aberita · 29/01/2010 17:56

I'm wondering whether to go for my super pumpkin mastery after all - there's no way I'd have got it by tonight, but if the planting period has been extended (I did read until 2nd February, but not sure how reliable that information is) then it should be feasible...

MumofOscar · 29/01/2010 18:26

Someone tell me if i'm doing the right thing here!! I've just realised that i've got all my ribbons re animals except for the cat lady and the egg one. So decided to get rid of all of my animals (except cats and chickens) to make more room for crops. Half way through doing it now and i feel really sad

Also very sad that i've nearly run out of all the lovely fuel i'd managed to build up. Got a few 1/4 tanks to accept from gifts but its not letting me accept gifts atm.

Please remind me of the benefit of getting rid of animals!

aberita · 29/01/2010 19:00

If you have a lot of animals, it can slow down the game. And most of them aren't very profitable - it's generally better to plant crops on the space instead.

I also got rid of most of my animals when I got the blue ribbon, but half regretted it when they introduced the collectables. I've ended up buying sheep and another cow shed in a desperate attempt to get twine and cow bells. It hasn't worked so far, though.

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 19:02

apparently not many people have been getting cowbells from the sheds - but individual cows........

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 19:10

oh I can't wait to get rid of my cats - I've got over 70 of them now! - still should have the blue ribbon by monday evening so will get rid of all but one or 2 grey tabbies

aberita · 29/01/2010 19:11

I did try leaving some cows outside the shed for a while but no success there either (though it was only five or six and only for a couple of days so possibly not long enough). But maybe I should take them all back out again after I've harvested them... The sheep are all outside obviously, but no twine in sight yet.

aberita · 29/01/2010 19:16

I can't even count my cats as they're all squashed up together, poor things, but I must have around 50-60. Still have just over 100 to harvest, so I think that means I should have my ribbon in six days at the latest.

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 19:18

I know I had 68 yesterday morning when I counted them - but I've added quite a few more I've got 90 or so to do, but some will be ready tomorrow, or Saturday (and maybe some later tonight I think?).

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 19:22

actually think it must have been 58 I had yesterday as I've just counted and I have 68 now

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 19:23

make that 69 - just adopted another one - and have 91 left to do

aberita · 29/01/2010 19:24

At least cats are fairly easy to adopt off the feed; they usually seem to stay on there quite a while. Unlike golden eggs and collectables.

ToccataAndFudge · 29/01/2010 19:26

yes they do - and I've had a good handful of grey's out of the mystery gifts as well

Nymphadora · 29/01/2010 20:43

Is the seeder any good? Debating buying one
