you know when dc's tag people on these strange picture things on facebook?e pi

i.e. first person in your phone book, hottest person you know,

weird.

however my dd has been tagged as Dumbest person you know.
Now would she have done this?
i am upset for her.
I went on to her account, she is aged 10 btw, and removed the tag. would this mean she tagged it herself

and she also has been having chats with some horrible older girls, who told her on christmas eve about father christmas being your MUM.

no, other people can tag you in photos and I think you can remove your own name.

Yup, just checked, you can remove a tag of yourself that someone else has put up.

You have to be 13 but obviously you don't have to enter your real dob. And you receive a notification if someone tags you in a photo, and yes you can remove it.

i have removed it, by going on her account, i very nearly made some comment but resisted.

i am pretty sure she wouldnt have done it herself . they were on her photos, i dont relaly understand this, are they on her photos cos she is tagged?

yes, there is a "photos of you" bit that shows any you are tagged in.

unless they were in her albums which means she did put up the pic, but not necessarily that she tagged it

lots of the children in my sons school all have a fb account, they can set them up with a false date of birth.
i have to admit i know my son has a fb account (he is 11)im friends with him and i can monitor who he is friends with and what hes doing. he doesnt have many friends on, although im friends with my cousins children(13yrs) and the things that they write and say to each other is horrible, i think the girls are a lot more nasty than the boys though..

you can untag yourself even if you didnt tag it, it then also stops that person retagging you in that picture.

My 10 and 12 yr olds have fb accounts. I don't see the problem with it so long as it is monitored.

Mine were only allowed to have them if they added me as a friend so I could see what was going on.

DD has facebook though and she is 12 but DH is one of her friends so does monitor what is occuring ( queue welsh voice)

i have threatened her with removing facebook because tbh she annoys people, ,says the wrong things, tells people her sister misses them for example which is untrue and embarrassng.

i will have a chat with her and remove those who are mean.

Possibly a good idea. A 10 year old is very different from a secondary school aged child. I worry because DD aged 12 has older friends through guides who are now 16+ and a couple now at uni. Very different again from a 12 year old. But hopefully DH is monitoring it carefully!

DS1 has had a FB account for around a year or so now. The funny thing is that his friends have added me as well as him. These are the 11yr olds who I have known since they were 4 and all started school together.....some of their parents have ds1 and the others as friends so we all monitor them.

Same here - I only allowed mine a FB account if they added me as a friend - that way if there's any activity involving them it appears on my 'news feed'.

Quite a few of their friends have added me as friends too. If they see me online the instant message me to chat, which I find quite flattering!

My 2 are 14 and 16 as are most of their friends.

Some of those tagged pics are computer generated so the application randomly pics 'dumbest' 'poorest' etc.
