i.e. first person in your phone book, hottest person you know,

weird.

however my dd has been tagged as Dumbest person you know.
Now would she have done this?
i am upset for her.
I went on to her account, she is aged 10 btw, and removed the tag. would this mean she tagged it herself

and she also has been having chats with some horrible older girls, who told her on christmas eve about father christmas being your MUM.

I won't add my dc's friends either. If they send a friend request I ignore it.

I do find it alarming though how many of my dc's friends have their profiles either completely public or with very limited privacy.

they need monitoring

err, 10 year olds shouldnt be on facebook.

SlartyBartFast · 28/12/2009 12:24

problem sorted

they were still making horrible comments when she wrote on her wall about our dog

i have changed privacy settings to comments only by friends.

will keep a close eye to see this doesnt happen again. have threatened her with closure of the account.

at ten, perhaps she shouldnt be on facebook?
my son was only allowed a facebook account aged 12.5 because he was going abroad for a month, and i needed to keep in touch with him. even so, he doesnt use it. says its to open to abuse

I agree with Misdee.
FB is populated by a significant proportion of people who don't know how to behave (or spell!).
There is stuff on there that I am unhappy letting my older children have access to, let alone a 10 yo.
I know you can lock their accounts down to protect their privacy, but things still appear on the walls and pages of their friends, some of which is vile.
You also have no control over who talks to them, contacts them etc if they play games on there.
I also loathe the targetted advertising.
You have to put a birth date that makes you over 13 in order for your account to be accepted (ie children under 13 need to lie about this) and therefore their account gets targetted for advertising that is not suitable for younger children, ime.

i may well cancel for 2 years or so then. she didnt want to as she plays pet society and she has "made a cat and everything"

i am sure we can find her other games to play.
