KingCanuteIAm · 22/07/2009 11:58

Ooh goody an up front by stealth

Go back and pay, why wouldn't you?

rubyslippers · 22/07/2009 11:58

how can you forget to pay?

you've eaten and drunk - therefore you pay

randomtask · 22/07/2009 11:58

I'd go back and pay.

SetSquare · 22/07/2009 11:58

oh no i am at HOME now you dullards.

OP posts:
kathyis6incheshigh · 22/07/2009 11:58

Go straight back, or if I can't, I would ring them up immediately and promise to pay as soon as I could.

IdrisTheDragon · 22/07/2009 11:58

I would go back in if I realised straight away. If I had got home then I am not sure what I would do .

Dumbledoresgirl · 22/07/2009 11:59

Well you should go back in and pay, assuming you realised your mistake before you paid for a busride home.

But I would probably not

How on earth did you get out of the cafe by mistake without paying? Sounds suspect to me.

SetSquare · 22/07/2009 11:59

oh yes obvioiuusly i wont give oyu ALL the aggravation and mitigation at one time...

OP posts:
hercules1 · 22/07/2009 11:59

lol at your second line.

Okay, I'll bite.

You should return to pay for it because it is probably a small business and cannot afford to have customers leaving without paying.

Sagacious · 22/07/2009 11:59

You were evacuated
SN
Accident outside and you're an A and E doctor
Reasearch for newspaper article

That about cover it?

SetSquare · 22/07/2009 11:59

DG ROFL at " sounds suspect"

CarpePerDiems · 22/07/2009 11:59

Go back, pay the bill and apologise.

The only exception would be if it had been a stop off while travelling and by the time I realised I was already many, many miles away. In which case I'd call and sort it out over the phone.

IdrisTheDragon · 22/07/2009 11:59

Obviously I would phone up and beg forgiveness and go in soon or send a cheque.

IdrisTheDragon · 22/07/2009 12:00

There's a cafe we go to where it would be quite easy to not pay. Always have done of course.

SetSquare · 22/07/2009 12:00

what if oyu didnt really want a carrot cake BUT when asking if they still had any baklava ( said bah kla vah) the slaoney assitant said " oh you mean ber klar var?"

ok ladies NOW WOT

OP posts:
Dumbledoresgirl · 22/07/2009 12:00

Well come on then, explain how you happened to consume cake and coffee and then, mysteriously, think you were being given them for nothing and walked out whistling?

allaboutme · 22/07/2009 12:00

its run by your best friend who you are seeing later anyway, so you can just pay her whenever and she wont get police on your tail in the mean time?

BCNS · 22/07/2009 12:00

if they take card payments.. ring them up.. and pay person not present on your card..

morally a good thing to do.. and you don't have to go out to do it

Dumbledoresgirl · 22/07/2009 12:01

You is taking da piss man

SetSquare · 22/07/2009 12:02

Dg you are really making me ROAR

OP posts:
SetSquare · 22/07/2009 12:02

what about the pronunciation correction?
does that not sway your verdict?

OP posts:
Dumbledoresgirl · 22/07/2009 12:03

Well what the hell has their pronounciation of a word got to do with it? Are you going to say you asked for baklava, were promised it and given carrot cake instead which was not what you asked for so damned if you were going to pay for it?

CarpePerDiems · 22/07/2009 12:03

Huh? If you felt the assistant was condescending you could have cancelled your order at the time. It's not a reason to avoid payment.

kathyis6incheshigh · 22/07/2009 12:03

If it was, say, Starbucks, I probably wouldn't do it as quickly as if it was an independent business.

The Sloaney assistant may be a mitigation but not enough to not pay, just enough to not do it as quickly as you would have done otherwise.
