I just do not understand the attraction with David Beckham

There are some men that I don't really find fanciable myself, but I can see why others would, Brad Pitt for example. But I just cannot see it with David Beckham.

I have just voiced this opinion to my administrator, who looked at me as if I was clearly insane.

I don't geddit, see.

ClaireDeLoon - quick straw poll of DW is the opposite. Yes to David Beckham and no to George Clooney.

No to any of the other suggestions either such as Jude Law or Brad Pitt.

ladylush · 12/06/2009 21:39

Agree that the voice is a turn off. That bod though............

sagacious · 12/06/2009 21:51

ach Ponders you wern't to know (am a die hard West Ham fan)

MaggieBee · 12/06/2009 22:56

your wife is lying about brad pitt.

michaelbooblie · 12/06/2009 23:04

Beckham does nothing for me (too pretty).

However I must confess an odd crush on Barry Van Dyke (Steve Sloan - Diagnosis Murder).

Am I alone in this one?, Does no-one else fancy him ? Is it just me ?

twoluvlykids · 12/06/2009 23:11

Ah - Mr Beckham - b/4 tattoos - a face like a model, a body like Adonis, a massive salary, and a voice like the little geezer who won "I'm a celeb" a few years back

ABetaDad · 13/06/2009 07:44

*MaggieBee - at 'lying about Brad Pitt'.

DW has offered Gérard Depardieu, Martin Clunes, Liam Neeson and Robby Coltrane, and Sean Connery as alternatives she quite likes.

That list worries me on a number of levels. Maybe its her age.

Lizzylou · 13/06/2009 11:29

yy to Sean Connery (when younger, in Marnie he was a GOD) and Liam Neeson, your wife obv has excellent taste ABeta.

I have "met" David Beckham, well, I sort of chased him for his autograph after a client lunch in Manchester, then couldn't speak when I got there. He signed the back of my Wedding Dress receipt . He was incredibly charismatic, far skinnier than you'd think and I wasn't keen on all his tattoos. But his smile could knock you off your feet, he was very patient as he was trying to shop with Gary Neville (poor man, was being ignored) and was being hounded whereever he went, lovely......

MaggieBee · 13/06/2009 14:37

Blimey o'reilly Abetadad, if those are her fantasy shags, I dread to think what you're like yourself, The grufallo?

MaggieBee · 13/06/2009 14:38

Yes Liam Neeson best of a strange bunch!

Tn0g · 13/06/2009 14:41

lol at blimey o'reilly

tribpot · 13/06/2009 14:42

In fairness to Mrs ABetaDad, perhaps he is so Adonis-like that her fantasy is to be with someone more, ahem, lived-in?

Tn0g · 13/06/2009 14:46

Martin Clunes is a worry isn't he?

He looks like a Toby jug.

differentnameforthis · 13/06/2009 14:57

I get it...

But also, as with Ruby,...I don't listen to him!

Ozziegirly · 14/06/2009 02:58

If I think of DB, I mentally toss my hair and think "no way, he's too pretty, too dumb, I would go for someone interesting and with a brain donchaknow"

And then I see his body and smile and just go "yumyumyummyyumyyummmmymmummmm"

He is just so hot and fit .

tillytips · 21/06/2009 17:27

i love him to bits, always have, actually am slightly obsessed with him. Hubby thinks i am slightly deranged. But i've liked him since he first signed for man u as a teenager, pre money. He just gets better and better.

somebody who can make that much money cannot be all stupid, besides his talent is his football not his speaking voice.

I just know that if i saw him i would be a gibbering wreck not a mature 37 year old woman!!

Anytime David, anytime.

annaje · 22/06/2009 11:43

I understand why people like him - but he's just not my type....

And he looks better with age!

AnyFucker · 22/06/2009 11:55

I would do him

No question

Talking not necessary

BonsoirAnna · 22/06/2009 11:58

I don't get Brad Pitt at all. But I do, definitely, get David Beckham.

TheSmallClanger · 22/06/2009 15:01

DB is lovely and has improved with age. Can't say I'm too keen on the pose or the strange hairdo in the latest Armani ad, though.
I could imagine that he is very charismatic, and I always think that he would be REALLY dirty in bed.

Ponders and Sagacious, I am both pleasantly surprised and a little sad that Harry Redknapp was once quite presentable!
