good morning ,its a lovely dayhere today and i am expecting my gs over for his breakfast ! no tnog i only went to put my kettle on ! and you had vanished into thin air ! so you think a necklace would be suitable ? we have no idea what goes on at these ceremonies, but want to do the right thing, her mum is so excited thinking about her face when she sees we have arrived. Its a verynice thought of them tonvite us,we have never met the parents although we have now seen each other on web cam.And we are staying in their house ,i am a bit worried about eating there as i am so fussy and wild horses won make me eat that fat sausage stuff they have there.I will have totake some munchies in my suitcase i think !abloke i hope you can sort your life out one way or another, its not good for any of you to live in a warzone.

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 11:21

this isnt my first time in Germany ,i went there many years ago when my brother was stationed out there with the RAF.But this time we are going to a place near dusseldorf, its only for a long weekend from fri to mon.dh is tring to find the cheapest and best way for us to go ,we may have to travel to London to get a flight ,have to balance out petrol, car park charges against having a flight from local airport which is much dearer

Tn0g · 20/02/2009 14:50

A cross on a chain was one of my confirmation presents, but anything really that could be perhaps kept as a keepsake that you think she'd like.

As a catholic I'd suggest gifts/items with some kind of religious element to them for occassions like baptisms, communion, confirmation.

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 14:52

such as what? i have no idea at all

Tn0g · 20/02/2009 14:53

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 14:54

Tn0g · 20/02/2009 14:57

Now don't laugh....

rosary beads, always go down a treat with us catholics...erm..

Tell you what go to the local Catoluc church and see if they have any items in the sacristy.

Tn0g · 20/02/2009 14:58

do you know her confirmation name?

get a book on the life of that saint

I got tons of those.

Tn0g · 20/02/2009 15:02

Tbh, M she's going to be delighted to see you and h, I wouldn't worry too much.

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:02

no 9 have no idea about a name , dint even know thats what happened until you said about it yesterday,i could ask her mum i suppose.washing is still wet anyway so will have to pop it in the dryer,i hate having wet washing around and i never stick it on the radiators as i think it causes damp, and is not good for anyones chest.

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:02

is it a long ceremony ?

Tn0g · 20/02/2009 15:03

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:05

i am hoping that next year we get an invite to Finland when one of our old students gets married.I cant really believe it ,he was only 16 when he came here and we have kept in touch all this time ,two years ago he was in Ireland studying and he flew over and stayed with us for a long weekend. He is now 23

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:06

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:07

we too had lovely sun thismorning andi actually sat in my conservatory doing my crochet, was lovely now dark and gloomy, but my highlight was gs coming over for food !

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:08

spring isnt far away lots of the daffs in the garden have the heads on them

Tn0g · 20/02/2009 15:12

it's very uplifting to see the croci and daffs peeping up out of the ground.

I've told dh when I die to plant snowdrops on my grave.

Although I may opt for a cremation, in which case he'll have to put my urn on the mantlepiece.

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:18

you could be pu in an egg timer ,that way you will never be late !

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 15:19

oh its going to be so nice when its nice enough to go and work out in the garden,it has to be really warm before i venture out though.I hate being cold at any time

mummylin2495 · 20/02/2009 21:05
