Tnog if you are reading this ,i hope you have had a very happy xmas and that your neighbour enjoyed himself too.I wish you a very happy new year.

Tn0g · 28/12/2008 20:44

Thanks, M, that's nice and same to you, of course.

Are you having a lovely christmas?

Everything's going well here and christmas day was a success, thank God.

Went to midnight mass on christmas eve and G complained of having trapped wind and was doubled over in pain the whole way through.

Neighbour arrived at 10 am Christmas morning for his lunch, weraing his best suit and a dickie bow...went home at 11.30 pm, drunk and very merry, left his dickie bow on the table under a pile of paper hats and blowers.

Got lovely presents including two bottles of perfume, Kate Moss - velvet something and Gingerlily shimmer dooda by Molton Brown, very nice.

Dh loves his lamp

G loves his presents

Forgot to put the baby Jesus in his crib...felt very bad about that.

Oh, and I made mince pies!

They were good.

Bought ready-made shortcrust pastry, and a jar of mincemeat.

Rolled out pastry, smeared dollops of mincemeat all over it rolled it up, chopped it up and put in the oven, added almonds and icing sugar.

Was very proud.

Dh was impressed , keeps calling me Nigella

tis wearing thin now.

DingDongMummyLinOnHigh · 29/12/2008 10:50

ha ha ha at mince pies !!!! yes had a great time and i had so many lovely things ,my fav being a laser photo set in the middle of a crystal block with a pic of my three gc inside it,and on the front it says " we love you nan and grandad " it is set in a base which when its plugged in it lights up and rotates, its great!I had my mum here from wed to saturday which was lovely for her as she could open her gifts with all of us.Dd and gd,s were here as was my ds,his wife and my gs so there was 9 of us and a friend came in the evening as well.It sounds like your neighbour had a lovely time ,its a xmas he wont forget im sure.So sad when people are on their own i think.Lovely to see you, enjoy the rest of the hols ,ps hope that G is feeling ok now.Off out to buy my dd her birthday present ready for tomorrow soon.On a more serious note this time next week we have step fathgers funeral, isnt it a long time to wait.Take care of yourself x

sparklesandwine · 29/12/2008 11:50

Hello all

i meant to make mince pies but dp bought some gorgeous ones from m&s and my sister made some and brought them over so there was no point really!!

although i did make a lovely soup (butternut squash and sweet potato incase you were wondering ) and the dc made a gingerbread house

oooh and i made my own cranberry sauce this year too

twas good fun dc had a fab time but they are starting to get a little too fiesty now so must calm them down some how....maybe i'll make them go in the garden for a while.....or we could go for a walk i haven't left the house since christmas day

DingDongMummyLinOnHigh · 29/12/2008 15:44

disaster has struck for my gs, whilst he was at work someone went into his bag and took his wallet containing his xmas money and his vouchers, bank card and his driving licence !! he didnt know what to do and couldnt get hold of his dad so called me instead,we went over and spoke to the manager of the store who had told gs he wasnt going to phone the police,we changed his mind for him ! and now they are involved as it is only the staff there who have access to where his bag was !they didnt take his ipod which was also in there so i guess they just wanted the money. My guess is that his wallet has been thrown somewhere once the person has taken what he/she wanted !

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 16:17

ML - So sad to think you can't trust the people you work with. I can't believe the manager wasn't going to report it to the police. Very poor judgement.

Nice to catch up with all your Xmasy News. Just been out for a brisk walk with dh. As my dsd is staying, we didn't need to drag the dcs out with us in the frost. Nice to have some time to ourselves to talk.

Hope the MN break is working out for you Tnog. I am trying to be here less ATM. Not always easy.

DingDongMummyLinOnHigh · 29/12/2008 16:30

yes ,im so mad about it wotz,as a student he dosent have a lot of spare money and it was gifts from other members of the family .Luckily he had spent some of his top shop voucher yesterday.I was all for lining them all up and doing a search !!!! The manager was quite blas'e about it ,but when we got there and spoke to him he then changed track and was agreeable to calling the police, ctv wasnt working which always seems to be the case.I feel very sad for him.We had to give him some money for petrol for his little car and some cash to buy his lunch !!!! Hope you have had a good xmas, we still have loads of stuff here to eat,as like everyone else we buy far too much !

DingDongMummyLinOnHigh · 29/12/2008 16:39

going to make some chips now and we will have with cold meat and i will have a bit of salad, whilst dh will want his bloody baked beans !!!!

Tn0g · 29/12/2008 16:40

That's lousy, M.

That happened to me once at college,

I knew who did it too.

They stole £20 and a belt.

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 16:43

I have a free house. Dh has taken them all out to the pics.
I don't actually know what to do with myself?

ironing
cooking
tidy up dishes
I might go and put a face mask on as there is no one here to laugh at me

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 16:43

ah a spot a Tnog

Tn0g · 29/12/2008 16:45

eyes like a hawk, wotzy.

I'm on my own too, tis bloody bliss.

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 16:47

So lovely to see you with a happy face and happy hat on
Glad you are feeling grand.

Tn0g · 29/12/2008 16:54

I got very down just before Christmas eve, was almost overwhelmed with emotion, sad and defensive and just horrrible.

Dh steered clear and G just kept hugging me.

was ok once I woke up christmas moning, 'specially when neigghbour arrived all spruced up and raring to go.

It sort of melted my heart a little.

Anyway, how is your festive season going?

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 17:00

It was OK. I did have a major melt down last year.
This year was better.
Last night I looked up at the stars and had happy memories of those who are not here anymore. Normally I get quite down about now, between Xmas and New Year. My family are all too far away. Dh's family live near, but it's not the same. dsd staying so last night I took a family pic of them all with grandparents. I'm just getting tougher and started to smoke again, I will give up in Feb again.

I need to get out and walk, it helps. Or cook.

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 17:03

I wish I could say something witty, I am all out!

I did get a nice Dior make up set from DH. That cheered me up. I got him a cordless drill he wanted.

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 17:08

anyway

enough of that cit chat time wasting nonsense.....

I have facial hair that needs a good sort out

see you later sometime.

Tn0g · 29/12/2008 17:08

You don't need to be witty, wotzy.

I gave my parents a photo album of family pics, it took ages to compile and when I gave it to them they held it like it was gold.

I got a christmas card from an artist called Aoife Feeney and it was a painting of women, 4 generations of one family, from great granny to new baby, it made me cry.

Make-up sounds lovely.

Dior too...very swish.

waltzywotzy · 29/12/2008 17:09

ah, with you popping back! I must do whiskers.

DingDongMummyLinOnHigh · 29/12/2008 17:21

hello again ,i forgot to mention that my sis bought me a new feather boa ,its red !!! i have no idea where she thinks im gonna wear thet,it will look out of place in the pub !!

DingDongMummyLinOnHigh · 29/12/2008 17:29

i am upset on behalf of gs tnog,he is such a trusting person ,now he must learn not to be.he looked so upset that someone would do that to him.he has been working there for quite a while now and has it in his head that it was one of the cleaners who were there today ,they were not the normal ones, but of course he has no proof at all,so he will have to chalk it up as an experience. We will give him a few pound to make some of it back up as it was his xmas money. His ipod was in the bag as well but that was untouched also a new jumper that we hab bought which he was going to change this afernoon as i got the wrong size
