Yes, I know it's bitchy, and that high fashion isn't about conventional beauty but does anyone else think Agyness Deyn is a bit of a dog?

Personally I don't think that catwalk models make any clothes look good, they all look the same body wise and it's very unrealistic as very few people look like that.

Erin probably doesn't like how she's asked to pose in those M&S adverts .

Probably not entirely her choice but I'll bet it's quite a lucrative contract!

Agyness photographs beautifully - that's part of why she's so successful. The angles of her body and face really show off clothes and makeup well.

Personally I'd rather see the clothes on a catwalk model than someone as dumpy as I am.

They really wouldn't look good then.

My daughter has a body type like that and it's very likely she always will, giving her dad's side of the family.

And I will think she's just as beautiful as someone who is as voluptous and curvy as I am.

She is not pretty, or ugly. Quite plain, androgenous, not curvy. Her face is very undistinguished to my mind. I read that she used to work in a chip shop and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like her behind the counter (bit miaow on my part, I know). I really don't like the hair. But for her to be so popular and to receive so much work, she must be a good model, which is about the way clothes look on her, the way she moves, the shapes she is able to make with her body, being versatile.

I just "don't get" Lily Cole

She looks quite alien to me -no amount of make-up can disguise the odd-ness.

I think Lily Cole looks quite pretty although the make up on that pic looks blardy awful. I have to admit I see prettier girls walking down the high street though.

Yeah, you see prettier girls in the street. But they may not look as good in a photo or video, may not have the look that people remember AND most of all, the height or build to do the job.

Alexa Chung was a model and she doesn't have 'conventional' looks, either.

But again, she has an unforgettable face.

Uma Thurman, again, not conventionally pretty, but she was once a successful model - she's 5ft., 11in. as well.

You see, I would say that Lily Cole does look a bit like an alien which is what makes her interesting and unusual. The contrast between the strong and the delicate. She looks like a doll or a cat. But she is also pale and interesting and delicate and feminine, with curves in her face, her forehead, her cheeks, her eyebrows.

Agyness Deyn's features are blunt and dull and unrefined. And why the pseudonym and the made-up spelling? Perverse and purely about publicity, which has worked.

I do see your point, Norbert, but I think that Lily is very striking.
I'd much rather see unusual, striking looking models than all these orange fake tanned/bleached blonde/fake boobs Wag looking women.

She's not ugly, just beyond plain.

My room is full of posters of the models you've all discussed. Majority of them consist of Lily Cole who has such a beautiful face. Models are very much structured on how they don't conform to our idea of beauty, i.e tall and skinny. As for those talking about Erin O'Connor, i'd like to add if it wasn't for her nose she would never be famous. And why the hell should she hide it? I'd rather someone with the guts to say 'hey, this is who i am, don't like it? i don't care'. Compared to some tarty blonde who's had a nose job 6000 times, personally i'd prefer it if she embraced the nose that once looked like a chewed up version of the eiffel tower. What concerns me the most is as far as i am aware you are all adults who have nothing better to do then criticise famous models, do you not have any faults in your own lives? It's very sad the way you haven't got anything better to do.

She's not a striking beauty on first look, but she photographs so well and isn't completely perfect looking. I for one would love to look like her.

I think Agyness Deyn and Lily Cole are both beautiful. I much prefer unusual beauty to all this fake-tanned/fake-boobed/fake-haired "beauty" that is promoted by glamour models and red carpet events.

She reminds me a bit like "Nena" you know....

butt ugly is quite harsh though....
