Oh no! I had no idea he was so old, actually. Think he's fixed in my head around the Sundance Kid era.

schneebly · 27/09/2008 15:21

Oh I loved him

lulumama · 27/09/2008 15:24

oh that is sad. a fine actor, a real gentleman with one of the most rock steady Hollwood marriages ever. I am sorry to hear this.

LynetteScavo · 27/09/2008 15:25

I happen to know he was fond of little dogs, and would have them flown over from France on his private plane. (inside information )

And his salad dressing rocks.

ruty · 27/09/2008 15:25

beautiful actor. RIP.

megcleary · 27/09/2008 15:26

WendyWeber · 27/09/2008 15:26

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no

I had heard he was very ill - was in a wheelchair last time I read about him.

He always seemed like such a gent

BecauseImWorthIt · 27/09/2008 15:27

I didn't know he ate dogs, LS. That is truly shocking.

the salad dressing wasn't very nice though

DocBunches · 27/09/2008 15:33

I loved him too - a great actor and possibly one of the most handsome men to walk the planet. Also, according to Sky News, he donated over £200M to charity via his salad dressing business.
