Have you had any round yet?

I've had 2. Soo ooo cute though.

It's my favourite time of year.

I haven't gone mad with decorations but enough to let dcs realise I'm participating. A house nearby has gone all out so I've directed them there.

Hope I get more?

Ooo doorbell has gone again.

It was 5 teens. Dressed up though. And they only took one sweet packet each.

Lovely here last night - we had about 25 groups calling (I checked the number of rings on the doorbell info afterwards!) and most were groups so around 125-150 kids maybe? Only one or two “barely trying” teens and even they were polite enough 😁. Loads of great costumes, cute little ones, practically all of them complimenting us on our pumpkins 🎃.

Far too many sweets left over though - hard to judge it! As well as the sweets, i put in the bowl some glowstick bracelets and some little tangerines with pumpkin faces drawn on in black sharpie and they were pretty popular too amusingly!

I live down a side street, unmade road, no street lights. Therefore thank goodness no Halloween! Growing up as a child Trick or Treating was unheard of. An American import like baby showers - neither of which I like personally. Everyone to their own.

178 at final count
We are on a big estate so get lots.
General rule is only knock on decorated houses. Everyone big and small were very polite.

One of my neighbours hands out potatoes which the kids think is hilarious

I was a child trick or treating in the 70s so an important yes but we have been doing it for years

Baby showers or sip and sees are an unnecessary newer arrival. Plus I thought we were not supposed gender babies/children these days. Can't keep up with it all anymore.

I live in a small village but there is a primary school and lots of the kids who attend there tend to come trick or treating in the village even if they don't live here. Gave out over 100 packets of sweets and then ran out so had to bring the decorations in.

We had none at all this year. Usually get little ones with friends and parents about 5-6pm then teens about 8-9pm. Sometimes a few chancers on their way home from the pub.
But this year, zilch.

Shame but I’ll have to eat all the sweets myself 🤷‍♀️

We gave out over 300 sweets, plus haloween stickers and satsuma decorated as pumpkins so probably had about 350 or so trick or treaters (we have to have a strict one only policy!) As always some amazing costumes (high on capybaras and classic ghosts this year!); adorable little people and charming teens. Love haloween!

I’d have loved to have seen a little capybara !

Rockpunkdisco · 01/11/2026 18:19

We had about 8, still loads of sweets left as they were so lovely and polite and only took one each! Our own DC came back with a bucket full, some people put some really 'fancy' stuff out, like Halloween pens, complete cups of sweets, bags made up, balloons.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 01/11/2026 18:27

We only had 3. Too many sweets left for me and dh to scoff!

It’s a much bigger thing where dd lives. Always hordes of them, inc. her 3 dcs and goodness knows how many friends.

WhitePudding · 01/11/2026 18:31

None. We live semi-rurally and only 4 houses down a very dark track in the dark. Only really accessible by car. Suits me after years on a new build estate where it was the opposite.

WearyAuldWumman · 01/11/2026 18:32

A public service announcement: warn your children that two kids in dinosaur costumes will inevitably get stuck if they try to climb up stairs at the same time. I had my heart in my mouth last night with a couple of wee boys who got stuck.

Mackerelfillets · 01/11/2026 18:38

I had 2 buckets worth but 2 scrots came into the porch hefore i got there and ransacked the bowl !!

Sandygran · 01/11/2026 18:40

Only one for us last night! A lad with special needs, about 14. He got so excited he tried to force his way into the house. Luckily his father/carer and I were able to stop him! It's a very quiet neighbourhood, but i was hoping for a few more.

TheBigFatMermaid · 01/11/2026 19:31

We had around 80 kids to our door. I absolutely love it. We go all out and are a "destination" I suppose. People pull up in cars outside our house.

Must be hard for his parents. I've supported people who would do something like that. But we can go home after a shift.
