Have you had any round yet?

I've had 2. Soo ooo cute though.

It's my favourite time of year.

I haven't gone mad with decorations but enough to let dcs realise I'm participating. A house nearby has gone all out so I've directed them there.

Hope I get more?

Ooo doorbell has gone again.

It was 5 teens. Dressed up though. And they only took one sweet packet each.

We are in a cul-de-sac and have had about 20 groups, maybe 60 kids in all. Lots of dads waiting at the end of the drive.
About the same as usual, dying off now so will switch off the lights at 8.

Favouritefruits · 31/10/2026 19:34

I took the kids out trick or treating and left a big bowl of sweets on the doorstep, I’ve got home and it’s still half full! Most children really are good and have great manners and do only take 1 or two sweets!

Fedupofthisgame · 31/10/2026 19:39

We've had quite a few. It's our first time in our new house so wasn't sure how many would come. All was good until 5 clearly late teens knocked, kneeing on the floor. I laughed and said they looked so small they could have a treat and the fuckers took massive handfuls. Barely any treats left for others now. Now I know why my DP hands them out one by one.

No idea. Though dh had to go out and buy more sweeties. We had in two tubs and 7 bags and ran out. So a decent amount 😅

We have been decorated for over a week however. Only a handful of roadmen types on e-scooters no idea if that was an outfit or just not bothered young teens lol

Neverstopwondering · 31/10/2026 19:46

Must have had nearly 100 kids this year so far and they are still coming though less often now. Think the nice weather here this evening has something to do with it.

Youngest was 6 weeks and strapped to dad who was dressed as batman

Most the kids were infant school age so that is new. Normally I get a lot more older kids. Had a reception class come in a large group with parents, si that was fun.

On last multi bag of sweets so hopefully they will stop soon before I have to turn off lights and hide

Neverstopwondering · 31/10/2026 19:51

The 20 something year old Amazon delivery man that dropped of a package earlier was impressed with my decorations.

This is a big improvement on last year when one delivery man was particularly put out by my fake doorbell that licks your finger if you press it.

I must start remembering next year to not order anything that might be delivered on 31st October!

Us too, at the end of the cul-de-sac and there’s an alley which made it very busy and usually it’s so quiet. It was full on from around 5:45 and I turned it all off at about 7:30 pm when we ran out of sweets ( two big tubs) and took the pumpkins in. It was really lovely. Some very good costumes. Mostly very sweet and polite little ones and a few sulky teenage girls who wanted the sweets but were acting too cool🤣 Good to see parents with all of them. Also all very polite.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 31/10/2026 19:59

I’m done. My takeaway came faster than expected so the decorative lights are off and the pumpkins are in. I’ve got a few small bags of sweets left but I’m sure DS will happily finish them off!

WearyAuldWumman · 31/10/2026 20:08

No more visitors and I have loads of sweets left.

Nourishinghandcream · 31/10/2026 20:21

Organised mayhem here, an almost continuous stream of kids from 5:30pm onwards with it tailing off by 7pm and completely silent by 7:15pm.
For the first year ever, we almost ran out of sweets and that was despite us buying loads and the kids mostly (all bar two) taking one sweet/packet at a time.
All polite, many cute and most of the parents (who keep well back) also joining in the fun by dressing up.

There are loads on our street, none of them live here, as only 5 littles do. There's no mini bus this year - yet ! But lots of cars dropping off a car full at a time, it's pissing down but that hasn't stopped them. They've been yanking at our gate this year too , I can see them doing it on cctv and I have it very securely tied shut as they've broken the catch twice before over the years. I don't want them scaring my dog. Some teenage lads have been hanging around the carpark at the back, not dressed up or anything and again they don't live here either, then a neighbour came along and parked up and then sat there with the lights full on so they buggered off again. I thought they might have been waiting for a lift but they weren't, why they wanted to hang around there in the dark & the rain I don't know. I wish they'd all go home now, three hours this has been going on so far.

Neurodiversitydoctor · 31/10/2026 20:27

I baked 30 halloween cookies and then another 30 or so. Probrably close to 100 DCs.

Chickenfilletroll · 31/10/2026 20:28

I'm in work and made up bags for dh to give out. He said there were 2 lots of kids, 5 kids in total. Nothing then for an hour so dh left bags out the front while he went to collect ds from his friend's house. Just seen on the cameras 2 teens at the door and 1 of them just emptied the box of treats into his bag while his friend told him that's not on don't be so mean leave some for other kids.
Don't think I'll bother next year. It seems to be dying out in my estate

Notexactlyasplanned · 31/10/2026 20:29

We gave out over 300 sweets, plus haloween stickers and satsuma decorated as pumpkins so probably had about 350 or so trick or treaters (we have to have a strict one only policy!) As always some amazing costumes (high on capybaras and classic ghosts this year!); adorable little people and charming teens. Love haloween!

And we ran out of sweets - they were still coming when we had to admit defeat ;-)

Holeymoley28 · 31/10/2026 20:36

Still getting people here although more of the arsehole grab a handful cheeky fuckers now which makes me angry and puts me off for next year.

Puffalicious · 31/10/2026 21:13

I made 40 decent sized bags, nipped out at 5:30 with DS3, got back at 6:20 & DP had almost given them all out! I raided the cupboard & used other sweets & a box of 30 crisps & still had to switch off the lights, take in the pumpkin & go through to the back room by 7!

Loads of guisers with great turns tonight: my favourites were 3 girl teens, Paddington, Coraline & a jester, who sung a song from Alvin & the Chipmunks complete with the high voices! It was awesome. 3 teen boys danced to a tune on their phone (hilarious), & at one point we had 6 littles on our in-ground trampoline🤣.

We always decorate well, but a few houses nearby went all out with gravestones, smoke machines, huge moving models etc.

It's the spooky forest tomorrow night 🎃

ViciousCurrentBun · 31/10/2026 21:56

First one was at around 5.30pm and last was 8.30pm.
We had about 50, we had 90 one year and it is usually more like 60 to 70 so I have bloody loads of sweets left over.

From toddlers to teens all very polite. I had my annual shitty tinned hot dogs for dinner. DH dresses up because I love Halloween. We then watched From Dusk till Dawn and ate left over crisps and haribo.

pinkpony88 · 31/10/2026 21:59

135… admittedly mostly in big groups but it’s been an exciting night 🤣

GameOfJones · 31/10/2026 22:10

The doorbell went 13 times which is a record for us as we live in a small cul de sac where very few houses decorate/have pumpkins. The last one was at 8pm and I told them to just clear us out and take the lot so I could bring the decorations in 🤣.

All very lovely and polite and I do love hearing their little voices calling "Trick or Treat!"

feellikeanalien · 31/10/2026 22:53

Well we had none in the end and now have a big tub of Haribo to eat.😆

Apotofrealcoffee · 31/10/2026 23:39

We had about 30/40 in total. Our estate is the trick or treating hotspot of the village so was well prepared, lots of decorations out. Also took the DC and their little friend trick or treating and they had a fab time. Happy Halloween everyone! 🎃

DaisyMayBojangles · 31/10/2026 23:52

Lots of Claudia Winkleman costumes this year strangely… is this a thing??

Cazs818 · 01/11/2026 04:18

Was a little disappointed this year 🥺, 3rd Halloween here first year had 10 if that, old owners mustn’t of done it , last year over 200 went nuts with the decorations ended up running out of sweets and giving Xmas chocolates 🤣
added a ton more decorations this year and made 400 bags was lucky if we got 100 was very quite maybe everyone was at party’s being a Saturday 🤷‍♀️

do miss our old house I slowly built that up and we used to get 500 + was manic , hoping this year was just a glitch
