Today is knitting and apple collecting. Wet and miserable weather so definitely one to stay indoors, warm and cozy ☕

Kettle's on, coffee @MewithME ?

@Swanhilde coffee ☕? Yes please! I just need to keep it coming today I think.

I'm up and had breakfast. Will take the dog out and do a bit of housework before senior pilates at 2pm.

I love your username 😍

@Chefpig that sounds horrendous. Is this heavy period bleeding usual? Hope they can give you something. Those days are finally behind me, but you need some help with that. You must feel awful.

Phew. That's good.

capamapadapa · 26/10/2026 16:30

Ugh, that's so hard @MewithME . At least it sounds like you expect them to take it seriously.

I had to give up working several years ago which was both a relief and a disappointment. How many people on this thread are currently working? Do you like what you do?

MewithME · 26/10/2026 17:14

@capamapadapa I work Mon -fri but I do part time hours so don't usually do a full 9-5 day.... Saying that I've WFH today. Started 8.30. had about an hour and a half lunch break perhaps ...and only just finished about 4.40pm so I've done more than I should today. Will do slightly less tomorrow but I will have a 45 min drive each way tomorrow so I will be tired.

DS is off for half term so no school runs - good. More making meals - bad!

I like what I do in many ways but trying to do it while in pain and suffering symptoms and not having especially supportively colleagues is hard.

I work 4 days a week, recently upped from 3. But I still work tto, despite my children being in their 20s! The regular breaks really help. Oh, and I love my job which also helps 💕

Previous employer was not as sympathetic when I became ill (threatened capability and eventually made me redundant) so it is so nice to work somewhere genuinely disability friendly ☺️

capamapadapa · 26/10/2026 19:27

@Swanhilde that's fantastic you're able to keep working in a job you love where the people are disability friendly. @MewithME so sorry you're colleagues aren't very supportive but I'm glad you enjoy bits of it at least.

I always make a point of being early in case the person before me is a little late, or the hcp is running ahead (only works at gp for some reason).

The first cup of tea will be lovely!

It generally works well with phlebotomy. Everyone is on an appointment time but when you check in they print your forms so they just pick up from the top. So if I'm 8.50 but turn up at 8.30 as I did today I was in and out before the 8.40 people turned up. I'm sure it's different in the afternoons when it's busier but works well at the moment.

Oioiqueen · 27/10/2026 08:31

Morning all, sun is shining.

I've got treatment this afternoon so need to get up off my backside and do something with the kids this morning.

TodayIsabetterone · 27/10/2026 09:30

Morning, found you all on a new thread already. 😊

Have a busy week ( well for me!) with a couple of appointments so will need to rest lots in between.

Had a belated family birthday celebration yesterday where we went for an afternoon tea at a nearby hotel which was rather lovely on a wet Monday afternoon. I don’t feel too bad so far and visible says stable which is reassuring but resting this morning as I have a scan on my shoulder this afternoon. Only phoned to book yesterday and got a cancellation, even the receptionist sounded stunned when she saw the appointment on the screen!

Glad the power is back on @JewelleryCat
Hope the treatment goes okay later @Oioiqueen

Have a peaceful Tuesday all. 💐

Morning, endometriosis, adenomyosis and pcos sufferer here. Ive read countless times that sugar can exacberate symptoms and bleeding and so yesterday, after bleeding like mad in the morning after my morning tea with two sugars, I decided to cut sugar for the day and bleeding was considerably lighter for most of the day, until the afternoon when I had a slight leak. Usually its constant.

This morning I put natural honey in my tea instead of sugar and the bleeding has been a lot, lot lighter / maybe not at all. I'd have to check my pad for any. Pain is present but usually I'm doubled up by now with visible groaning and pulling painy faces!

Is a sugar free diet the way forward? I love yoghurt and cake. I reckon it's going to have to be natural yoghurt with fresh fruit and honey from now on.

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2026 10:21

Hi everyone!

Such a lovely day here.

Good luck to everyone with a treatment or test today. I am still waiting for a neck scan and a nerve conduction test, no idea how long it will be. My arm numbness has calmed down but my leg is playing up again and I have a numb bum that side. Normally I 'd put it down to sciatica ( my hips are always tight) but who knows. Anyway instead of sitting here worrying I am trying to get an emergency appointment with my osteopath. At least he can loosen things up again, and hopefully explain what is maybe going on! Obviously my neck is part of the problem but the sciatica is an old friend 😥

CoffeeBeansGalore · 27/10/2026 10:33

Morning all.
Sunny & windy here but should be slowing through the day with showers later.
Dentist tomorrow replacing a temporary filling. Not looking forward to that.

@TeaAndStrumpets good luck with the nerve conduction test. Have you had one before?

I used to live on chocolate! Sadly I started to develop allergies in my 40s and had to give it up, likewise dairy. I think the pain killers I took did awful things to my stomach and that made me more prone to developing food reactions. No improvement in pain or bleeding though (sorry!) Eventually I became extremely anaemic and had a hysterectomy. Wish I'd done it sooner.

Thanks no I haven't had one before, but it doesn't look too scary. When I was at A & E the other week I was going to have a head CT scan but once they'd ruled out stroke they discharged me. Four hours on a hospital chair played havoc with my sciatica! At least that always responds to massage.

The nerve test is looking for a neck impingement and that makes sense because I've had a nasty pulling pain just below the nape of my neck for a few months. The numbness is ring and little finger.

Hope the dentist goes OK, I suppose a replacement filling means a bit less drilling!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 27/10/2026 10:50

@TeaAndStrumpets I had one when they were trying to work out what was wrong with me.
It's not pleasant, but it's not painful, just uncomfortable at times.

Thanks. Did they manage to find anything in other tests? It all takes so long! Always used to enjoy House, when he'd snap his fingers and order multiple tests!! It's just fantasy sadly 😏

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2026 11:53

DH had his routine osteopath treatment today, they've put me on the cancellation list. I'm at the top, and as the receptionist told him "a lot of people have the lurgy at the moment so you never know" 😂

On his drive there, he was delayed by a massive queue of traffic. The route is along a very long avenue through the centre of a housing estate. The traffic was crawling. Right at the front of the tailback was a huge Canada Grey Goose, proceeding at a stately pace in the middle of the road. Eventually it turned left and went down the side road towards the gravel pits. Obviously knew exactly where it was going!

Oioiqueen · 27/10/2026 11:58

@TeaAndStrumpets love that, I can visualise it, sounds so funny. We had a Squirrel this morning that decided to just stop mid run in the middle of the road to eat it's goods. We just laughed as it would not move, luckily I saw it before I splattered it and went on the other side of the road to avoid it.

Yes. I was lucky. They admitted me for 3 days and bombarded me with tests. It was Sjogren's Syndrome which caused my immune system to attack my nervous system, massively damaging the cauda equina nerve endings. Which was the cause of my legs constantly giving way.
I was diagnosed within 6 months which is quick for this so again, I was lucky.

Swanhilde · 27/10/2026 12:31

Have finally had my haircut and then met my friend for coffee and a catch-up this morning ☕

Back home now for lunch and then out for coffee again this afternoon! Really should have planned that better 😆

They are always so busy! I wonder what they think of us?

Once when driving through some woodland I slowed down to let a dozy pheasant cross the road. They was a lot of game round that time of year , only locals drove through usually, slowly of course.

A moron in a penis wagon rushed up behind, overtook me, (a woman impeding him!!) and collided with the poor thing. My only consolation was that a new radiator for his posh car would be ££££. Hope it took out a headlight as well.
