I love getting ideas from other peoples meals, I generally cook from scratch and try and avoid UPF but try to take a common sense approach.
I'm feeling board and looking for inspiration.

Monday
Frozen pizza with added toppings, salad.

Tuesday
Burgers, coleslaw and potato wedges
(All homemade except the buns)

Wednesday
Sweet and sour pork with rice
(cooked from scratch)

Tonight we are having chicken fried rice. I'm roasting a chicken and will use some of that, along with the leftover rice from last night and some veg from the fridge and freezer.

Tomorrow I will make a chicken curry with the rest of the chicken.

Monday steak pie, roasties and veg
Tuesday pizza (crosta & mollica, not homemade this time)
Wednesday chicken katsu, rice, shredded cucumber and carrots
Tonight meatballs and spaghetti (Hairy Bikers recipe).
Except the pizza (oh and the pastry for the pie - puff pastry is too much of a faff) all cooked from scratch by dh.

GameOfJones · 15/10/2026 19:23

Monday - spinach and ricotta tortelloni pasta bake with broccoli and courgette

Tuesday - chilli con carne topped with avocado, sour cream and grated cheese

Wednesday - I had a bit of chilli left over but not enough for the main component of a meal so I made some flatbreads then topped them with chilli and cheese and oven baked them like a pizza then served with salad. They were nice!

Tonight - spaghetti carbonara with green beans

I bought mine from the Korean supermarket. I scanned the label on the Open Food app and the only level 4 NOVA UPF marker was MSG, which many argue shouldn't be a NOVA level 4 marker.

Generally, I pretty much have most breakfasts (other than a little UPF free granola a couple of times a week), lunches and dinners from scratch every day. Not going to freak out about a bit of gochujang paste 🤦‍♀️😂 I don't think the world will end or there will be some disastrous consequence because of my gochujang habit 😂

Lol, I wasn't judging -just wanted to highlight some me of the brands they sell in the big supermarkets have some added stuff

Some lovely meal ideas so far. My meal plan goes Friday to Thursday so here’s what we’ve just had. Both me and my husband love cooking so everything is cooked from scratch. This is for us two and our 4 and 5 year olds.

Friday: Cajun chicken burgers with grilled pineapple and potato wedges
Saturday: a takeaway for the husband as I was at an industry event and was fed there. The kids had tuna pasta which they love!
Sunday: one pan chicken and broccoli lasagne
Monday: jacket potatoes with tuna and sweetcorn
Tuesday: sausages, mash, Yorkshire puddings and veg
Wednesday: honey and lime pork nachos
Thursday: crab orzo with lemon and chilli crumb!

We restart tomorrow but going to keep my eye on this thread as I love trying new recipes.

champagneplanet · 15/10/2026 20:48

Monday: Fishcakes, new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli
Tuesday: Gammon, jacket potatoes, cheese & coleslaw
Wednesday: Chicken wraps with salad
Thursday: Chicken/Sweet potato traybake with green beans

Looking for ideas for tomorrow…..

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/10/2026 20:49

Just me and DP. We had:

Sunday - chilli with rice, tortilla chips and dips
Monday - jacket potatoes with chilli and cheese, salad, coleslaw
Tuesday - chorizo and red pepper gnocchi
Wednesday - “marry me” butter beans with crusty bread
Tonight - chicken and leek pie, mash, tenderstem
Tomorrow will be chicken fajitas

The pie we ate tonight was from M&S, likewise the coleslaw. I’m on holiday this week so have had time to do more cooking than usual, but normally we have a couple of nights where we have an oven meal, and we generally split cooking fairly equally. I made red pepper and butternut soup whhch we’ve had for lunches (DP mainly WFH) but I’m very keen on a tin of Heinz!

togoornottogo3 · 15/10/2026 20:50

Monday- chicken and asparagus pie
Tuesday - roast chicken, potatoes, veg, yorkies and cheesy courgette & leek mix
Wednesday - mussels with fries, prawn & chorizo tapas dish, roasted asparagus
Today - fish & chips

MyFriendNorman · 15/10/2026 20:52

Monday - chicken fajitas
Tuesday - chick pea curry with rice and flatbread
Wednesday - leftover flatbread made into toasties in the air fryer with cheese and tomato filling. Coleslaw.
Thursday - salmon in watercress sauce, broccoli and new potatoes.

ETA: kids had same on Monday and Tues. Wed they had egg fried rice with bacon, onion and peas chopped in it (leftover rice from curry) because I was going to the gym so DH and I ate after. Tonight they had tortellini pasta with arrabiata sauce as DH is out, so I had a posh ready meal from M and S as a treat.

hermioneJG · 15/10/2026 20:54

We’ve had 2 casseroles with mash and veg (winter incoming). Fishcakes and potato gratin. Creamy bacon orzo. All very hearty, stick to your ribs kinda food.
