The idea that NHS staff are saints should be discouraged. It is very damaging as it puts people off seeking medical advice (fearing they might be a nuisance) and from advocating for themselves in medical settings. NHS staff are just like any other profession, some are fantastic, most are fine, some do it because they have a god complex and some just don’t care very much and do the bare minimum. They deserve respect but should not be put on a pedestal.

He is though isn’t he, in the same way god is a ‘man’ in Christianity.

I have worked with many individuals who are repeatedly homeless. They just can not sustain a tenancy even in supported housing. Their lives are chaotic - often marked with substance misuse, personality disorders and criminality.

in addition to your "some are" list, some are total shits. I used to work in the NHS. Some are thieves, perverts, terrible to their families, abusive and so on. They are people, just like people doing any other job. Some deserve respect, some do not.

I agree with this one. My kids were only ever allowed water, milk or (weak) tea. It never occurred to me to offer them anything else. Now as teenagers they are obviously free to buy and drink whatever they want but they still only drink water, milk or tea!

That even though many crimes and people deserve to be punished with the death penalty, it should never be implemented. There is no way to be 100% certain that an innocent person would never be tried, convicted & executed under such a system.

I said it's irritating when Boomers blame Netflix and Coffee for people not being able to buy a house and yet heaven forbid we mention the amount of pensioners eating out in expensive garden centre cafés when they are moaning and bitching that they are trying to survive on a pension. I think they are beautiful destinations and I have had some amazing times in Scotland. It's much, much more expensive than going abroad though.

I think no one should be able to take out of a system without having contributed towards it. Regardless of citizenship. Where you are born is due to luck outside of your control. How you act in life such as standing on your own to feet and being a productive member of society however is completely in your control. And that, in my opinion, should be considered much more than citizenship. Being a citizen comes with rights, yes of course, but as an immigrant the majority of my life, your responsibilities are equally important.
