Nah, I have tonnes of respect for them, I love that they live their retirement lifestyle and I’m ALWAYS telling my mum and family to spend it all and not leave it to their kids. But I cannot cope with the ones that say they’re living on the breadline when they aren’t, or pretending that national statistics can’t possibly be right because their children have more money than them (and higher costs, bills, no chance of retiring at a reasonable age)…it’s just the delusional ones that I get frustrated with.

That's the thing, I didn't say I hate all boomers, just the spiteful coffee and netflix ones that I've been on the receiving end of when at rock bottom and that makes me ageist and spiteful.

Another one - there is absolutely no link between vaccines and autism. Zero.

I share this at every opportunity 😁

People who have never raised SEN children shouldn’t offer their opinion on how to raise them. Nobody asked, Patricia.

People who require bottles of bleach to have the safety label on, shouldn’t be allowed a vote.

People who bang on about “wasting money on coffee shop coffee” are both boring, and wrong. Sometimes it’s nice to have someone make it for you. It’s the grown up version of “no you can’t have an ice cream, we’ve got choc ices at home.”

The first one is so very true.

BubblingBobbling · 13/10/2026 19:20

Mine may be controversial to pro-life supporters?

Modern day medicine is fantastic but it isn't always for the greater good.

Keeping elderly people going artificially just so they can slowly waste away in a care home at £1300+ per week is bloody awful. Sometimes, letting nature take it's course is the kinder option.

Flu jabs, Covid jabs, antibiotics etc which are frequently used to keep elderly and unwell people alive is wrong on so many levels.

I say this as the daughter of a very much loved mum who has suffered for almost a decade with dementia. A wonderful, vicacious woman would have hated to have discovered this wash her life at 84.

Oh, and this rise of anxious teenagers is due to coddling.

Absolutely.
The amount of young women i know whose mothers channel their anxiety onto is staggering.
Scared of the world
Terrified of one day having to be independent
Unable to sort their own car insurance
Have to consult parents to validate/gain reassurance constantly because independence and resilience has not been instilled.

There is a radio series of comedy plays called "The Penny Dreadfuls Presents...." which does alternative retellings of famous stories. One is Richard III and it is very good, I highly recommend them.

But as you say, Richard gained nothing from killing the Princes as they had already been declared illegitimate and therefore couldnt take the throne.

You say that, but statuses changed so quickly back then. Get the Yorkists back in power and their legitimacy could easily have been restored.

Plus, even an illegitimate heir was a threat (Elizabeth I, anyone?), and those boys would have been a rallying point for endless uprisings as long as they lived. Richard had the means, motive and opportunity.

There’s also those who believe Henry VII wouldn’t have killed the boys then married their sister, although I’m not sure he would have been so nice about it. He made a lot of sacrifices to get to the throne.

Although, I’m a Yorkie so happy to blame those Lancastrians!

Those fucker cannot stay out of the sky though.

There is barely a day where Bezos or Branson aren't wearing a fetching catsuit and bragging about how they are going to space with their team yet they never seem to get there.

If they thought they could monetise it they would be there.

I hope I never read another sentence containing the words

Bezos, Branson and fetching catsuits

  1. Gender is a fucking harmful construct and we should take a stand against it. It underpins things such as misogyny, VAWG, male suicide and violence.
  2. I think owning dogs is gross. Having them in your house, licking you (or worse still licking me) is horribly unhygienic. It feels worse now that dogs seemingly need to go everywhere humans do. I don't get the concept of having pets full stop but dogs are worse due to people treating them like four legged humans.
  3. If you don't want or need a termination then don't have one. Butt out of what other women choose to do with their pregnancy.
  4. Western countries should pay reparations for the transatlantic slave trade and recognise the lasting damage it caused.
  5. The Holocaust happened. And more and more I can understand how it did.

With the Audi thing, are they set up in such a way that makes people drive badly, or does the marque attract worse drivers? Do we need a separate driving test for Audis (and SUVs)?

The fast and the furious: Research shows that owners of high-status cars are on a collision course with traffic | University of Helsinki

To gain answers, researchers carried out a study of Finnish consumers. A total of 1,892 car owners answered not only questions about their car, consumption habits and wealth, but also questions exploring personality traits. The answers were analysed using the Five‐Factor Model, the most widely used framework for assessing personality traits in five key domains (openness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness).

The answers were unambiguous: self-centred men who are argumentative, stubborn, disagreeable and unempathetic are much more likely to own a high-status car such as an Audi, BMW or Mercedes.

The only quibble I have with that last bit is that the traits of arrogance and bad driving in prestige car owners applies to men and women

The fast and the furious: Research shows that owners of high-status cars are on a collision course with traffic | University of Helsinki

Why do BMW and Audi owners often seem to drive like idiots? Is it the car that makes them behave aggressively behind the wheel, or are specific types of people drawn to such cars as well being more likely to break traffic regulations? New research at t...

I am reminded of the Flat Earth Society's reported slogan " We have branches across the globe" or some such.

They spent a fortune tryung to prove the earth was flat and ended up proving it is in fact, not 😂

Can you imagine getting away with ‘emotional school avoidance’ in the 70s. Wouldn’t have happened

It did happen. And there were very small classes for students available within council buildings. However they were much less in demand so not readily known about.

ha, are you referring to Beyond The Curve,

  1. I don’t really understand, Gender is a thing.
  2. You hate dogs. Good for you. You should move to Pakistan.
  3. Take your own advice
  4. Western countries are more than making up for it by basically allowing free immigration to the detriment of the inhabitants of western countries. You know Africa and Persia had its own internal slave trades that were arguably far worse?
  5. Agreed
