Yes to all of these! 👏

So you agree that it is right, sometimes. In fact all the time if it affects you personally…

The moon landings could well have been faked, that we haven’t been back to the moon since is a big red flag.

Cheese and onion or shut up

Depends on individual really

E.g. I think Winslet would last a lot longer in cold water than DiCaprio

Not nowadays 🫣 he'd last about a month!!!

There are vindictive judgemental people of all ages.

I bet pensioners have paid more in tax than the current working generation ever will.

I actually don't care. I have my personal reasons for feeling like this and I don't care how much they've paid in contributions over the years

SerafinasGoose · 13/10/2026 19:03

So not a 'hill to die on' thread, but a variation on the usual 'unpopular opinions' theme that always descends into an unedifying bunfight. The crowning touch is the usual dose of ableism and the ignorant assumptions upthread that all SEN kids are reprobates, poorly parented and as thick as two short planks.

You knew exactly what you were doing, OP.

Moon landing was not fake but agree with you about everything else.

There is an interesting conversation on there with a rich pensioner denier. They believe the millennial generation are better off than pensioners and will be when we retire too 🤣😂🙄

To think it’s crazy that National Minimum wage is £27k | Mumsnet

Yet it’s not really enough to live on 😢 My first job paid £7.5k per year and I thought I was loaded! And I’m not ancient. Now 2 people on NMW earn...

Those who think sex is underated aren't doing it with the right person.

Or on antidepressants that make libido and sensations go away?

Humane human euthanasia is a needed service to prevent unnecessary suffering.
If it's cruel to make an animal suffer cancer etc and considered the humane thing to put them to sleep, why do we force humans to endure a slow painful death?
Once a certain quality of life is gone, people should have the right to decide enough is enough.
Mental health conditions should be included too if the person is aware and has decisional capacity, and years of tried and failed treatment has been undertaken.

Alzheimers/dementia patients is a grey area that would need judging case by case, but whomever has power of attorney for medical decisions should be able to apply to a medical board to start the process once the patient is past decisional capacity.

Seeing my mum die from brain cancer has destroyed my entire family with grief and trauma, and i definitely don't want to suffer like that or make my loved ones suffer that way again.

+1 to all saying Abortion should be free and legal everywhere, as soon as possible, as late as needed. (Maybe even forced IUD or implant if women are clearly irresponsible using it as emergency contraception)

Careful you'll be accused of being ageist

FlimFlamFlomFlipFlapFlop · 13/10/2026 19:02

I've been asked what hill I would die on and one of mine is that I am sick of Pensioners and the coffee and netflix comments. I'm sorry if anyone finds that ageist but I'm very sick of it, it's a personal thing. I am allowed this opinion. I'm sick of previous generations who had opportunities that this generation don't have a hope in hell of getting sneering at us saying we simply don't work hard enough and want it all handed to us on plate and don't prioritise. People who got handed council houses to them on a plate and bought that house on the cheap without saving a penny for a deposit and would never have been able to do that today. Me and my children are fucking homeless and get these comments regularly thrown at us so don't tell me there is no logic behind my opinion and that I have no right to be utterly sick and tired of it. That is the basis of my opinion, from personal attacks at my absolute lowest ebb. I don't care if it's ageist or spiteful.

This 100 times over.

Christmas is overrated and far too expensive at this point.

RanyaJerodung · 13/10/2026 19:09

@UndeadLife- you'd force women to have an IUD/implant, really?
Would you be in favour of forced vasectomies for men?

SleeplessInWherever · 13/10/2026 19:10

People who have never raised SEN children shouldn’t offer their opinion on how to raise them. Nobody asked, Patricia.

People who require bottles of bleach to have the safety label on, shouldn’t be allowed a vote.

People who bang on about “wasting money on coffee shop coffee” are both boring, and wrong. Sometimes it’s nice to have someone make it for you. It’s the grown up version of “no you can’t have an ice cream, we’ve got choc ices at home.”

  1. vaccination is necessary for the health of the whole population
  2. first aid and cooking from basic ingredients should be taught in schools
  3. graffiti is not art it is what makes our cities look shit
  4. people who fly tip and litter have no respect for others

Kids should be taught cooking at home

Sconessa · 13/10/2026 19:10

Opinions are not facts. Politicians are allowed to repeat “inaccuracies” as there is little accountability. The manipulation online and in the media is off the charts.

I have little patience for bullshitting to emphasise points or towards those who ignore nuance.

Covid should be taken more seriously.

Treating all groups as monoliths does my head in (all boomers do x or all children are spoilt).

“Building resilience” is used to justify all sorts of crap - for others.

There’s too much admin in the world!

In spirit I agree with you on euthanasia but there’ll never be an ideal there.
what you say is true but opening that Pandora’s box means thousands of people could die when they could have got better.
just look at what is going on in Canada right now. In some cases its just tantamount to murder.

Nah, I have tonnes of respect for them, I love that they live their retirement lifestyle and I’m ALWAYS telling my mum and family to spend it all and not leave it to their kids. But I cannot cope with the ones that say they’re living on the breadline when they aren’t, or pretending that national statistics can’t possibly be right because their children have more money than them (and higher costs, bills, no chance of retiring at a reasonable age)…it’s just the delusional ones that I get frustrated with.

Totally agree with the euthanasia thing but with strong safeguards. Not sure about abortion "as late as needed"
